January 7, 2023
Today I will introduce you to the first limited edition exclusive of the year. But first a little backstory.
The classic Squirting Nickel was invented by Soren Sorensen Adams and marketed by his company S.S. Adams Co., which was purchased by Ted Bogusta of Martinka Magic.
One day at his retail store Ted decided to try a practical joke by making a Squirting Half Dollar and when magicians came by, he would ask them to see the new folding half dollar which has no seams. As they took a closer look, he would squirt them with water. Got big laughs and the magicians wanted some.
He designed one with a hollowed half dollar, custom made cavities, and a perfectly positioned hole. The coin held a lot of water and at times could shoot an eight-foot stream of water. In most cases you can get 1-3 squirts averaging around 2-3 feet.
Shortly after he started advertising it, it was knocked off by a Chinese company and sold to many magic shops. The knockoffs, however, could not empty the chamber and the streams were very short.
Ted recently found a small supply of the original half dollars and is allowing me to sell around half of them. Once they are gone, I doubt they will ever be made again.
Watch the trailer I made which will also serve as a tutorial.
►Squirting Half Dollar:
A classic prank made using real half dollars.
This is a precision-made squirting half dollar made by hollowing a real coin, drilling a tiny and perfectly positioned hole, and soldering a custom-made airtight cavity. In most cases you can get 1-3 squirts averaging around 2-3 feet of streaming water. Once they are gone, I doubt they will ever be made again.

►BACK IN STOCK:
Around three weeks ago when my newsletter centered around color changing knives, I immediately sold out of all the Ascanio books I had in stock. I just received another shipment if you missed out. I should also mention that you can get a copy of Ascanio’s World Of Knives from Amazon worldwide.
►Ascanio’s World Of Knives:
Considered the best book on the subject. In 1958 Arturo de Ascanio, who went under the stage name Marcus, wrote the definitive book on the subject in Spanish. In 1975 Jose de la Torre released Ascanio’s World Of Knives in English which helped make the routine a staple of every close-up magician’s act.
After being out of print for decades Ascanio’s World Of Knives is back and is better than ever, with many clear photographs and illustrations that make all the techniques and routines easy to learn. This book teaches you the many tools you need to create your own routines with pocketknives that change color on command.

►Making Magic:
Martin Lewis created many routines that are regularly used by the most popular magicians and mentalists.
His creative approach to entertaining magic is applied to close-up, parlor, and stage magic with a special interest in practical stand-up magic.
This legacy book contains detailed explanations to more than 50 of his best routines.

“I like to use the word ‘Amateur’ to describe a person who is fond of an art because that word conveys the idea of love to that art.”
