With the passing of my friend and legendary magician Juan Tamariz (October 18, 1942-August 18, 2026) I was reminded of the two spots I performed on his television show Luna de Verano in 1990.
The video quality is poor and my performances subdued because I decided to skip all the humor and asides to make it easier for Juan to do the simultaneous translation into Spanish.
Also of interest is that if you look closely at my right hand, you will notice that I am wearing a prosthetic finger to make my hand look more natural. I stopped wearing it many years ago and I think I only wore it on TV around three times before deciding that it was more trouble than it was worth. I also realized that if I can’t hide something minor, like a missing finger from my audience, I am probably not a good sleight-of-hand artist. So, I spent months re-choreographing my favorite routines to hide that fact.
