On July 15 and July 30 Meir Yedid finalized the purchase of a major part of Ray and Lisa Piatt’s Magic Makers product line. The line included around 40 different routines which were created by Ray Piatt, Larry Becker, Joseph Dunninger, Mel Eisenberg, Maurice Fogel, Ted Lesley, Roy Miller, Bob Tripp and a few others.
Ray Piatt (pronounced pie-att) retained the rights to, and continues to manufacture his line of leather products, Gypboards and card products.
Ray Piatt has been called, “The Thayer of contemporary apparatus for mentalists,” by Larry Becker. In a 1984 issue of MAGIK, Bascom Jones wrote about Piatt’s products, “With a selected handful of Piatt’s devices and effects, the professional could make a reputation and a fortune.” This may be the first time that these closely held mentalism and magic secrets are made available to a wider magic audience.
The first product re-released under, Meir Yedid Magic, with new instructions and props is the Piatt Envelope which is described below. Already available on the website (www.mymagic.com/piatt.htm) is a limited supply of The Impossible Book Test, Alarmset, and the ESP Testing Tablet. Many of the other items will be added to the site as they are unpacked, assembled and in some cases re-packaged with new instructions. Once the limited inventory of these items is sold they will be taken off the market until they can be re-manufactured.

This is one of the most devious and ordinary looking props a magician and mentalist can use. The concept of multiple outs is a powerful weapon when used in a mental effect.
