MyMagic eNewsletter #1,324
July 30, 2025
In the last newsletter I introduced you to a download by David Solomon. If you don’t already use this routine, I highly recommend you get Mexican Poker (which was also published in MAGIC and in a Bannon book). It is not just another ten-card Poker routine. It is devious, uses a different method, and is completely self-working. You won’t be sorry… I promise. Get in now, get it: HERE
I have been performing it lately, with a regular deck, and my presentation revolves around the expression, “I’d rather be lucky than good,” and justifying the procedure as a test to see how good their intuition is, and how lucky they are. In the last phase I let them cheat by looking at everything.
Last week I offered you David’s El Escorial notes on The Punch Deal which sold out immediately. Today I will offer you two other of his El Escorial notes. However, since I have much fewer of these, I also made available digital versions for half the price.
►Matt Schulien Eddie Fechter A Comparison:
In October 1999 at the exclusive El Escorial gathering that is annually produced by Juan Tamariz, David Solomon gave a talk comparing famed bar magicians Matt Schulien and Eddie Fechter.

►Mexican Poker:
If you ever wanted to do an impromptu poker deal that is self-working where the spectator makes all the choices, and you still win… this is for you.
David Solomon teaches his excellent routine using jumbo cards (although you can do it with a borrowed deck). Ten cards are used and are dealt to the table, two at a time, letting your friend decide which cards are for them and which cards are for you. After giving them every opportunity to change their mind at every instance you still win. They will end up with a full house while you show that they selected a straight flush for you… depending on the choices they make you might even get a Royal Flush!

►Stage Size BS Board:
A funny and surprising comedy routine for entertainers.
This is the first time it has been made available for stage performers. Meir Yedid has been closing his stage shows with it for 15+ years and magicians have been begging him to release the stage version.
It is not a magic routine. It is a comedy bit that can be used anytime during a show.
