Wanted to let you know about a video I just uploaded to MagicTimes of Herb Zarrow reminiscing about his origin story, influences, and friends. It was recorded around 24 years ago at a local SAM meeting when we convinced him to present a full evening lecture.

►Meir Cameo At Zarrow Lecture:
Although Herb Zarrow presented a few mini-lectures over the years he did very few full evening lectures. Probably less than five. When presenting those lectures, he liked to have a break every few routines. To accomplish that he would ask John Mintz, Ron Wohl, and myself to do short spots.
This is a video from the first full lecture he ever gave in 2001. The second half of the lecture featured some of his rubber-band stuff followed by me demonstrating two of his routines and two of his flourishes. Look at an embarrassingly young me doing some of Herb’s card stuff…

►US Postage Increase:
For a long time, I have been charging a flat $5 for shipping on orders up to $45. It is rare these days that I pay less than $5 for shipping, even on the smallest orders. I will be adjusting the postage rates as little as possible. Starting Wednesday the new US rates will be $6.50 on all orders up to $65 and free for orders over that.
You may have also noticed that I have been adding many inexpensive downloads lately which can be used instead of postage if you are just short of the $65 minimum for free shipping.
►Time Warp Wallet:
David Solomon’s Time Warp Wallet has been off the market for many years. It accomplishes an impossible card routine that no other wallet can.
The main routine has you name your favorite card and your friend name any other card. Your card is lost anywhere in the deck as you attempt to cut to it. You cut to a card which you claim is your favorite, place it in the wallet as you remove some money. You then offer your friend the opportunity to win the money if they can cut to their card. Of course, they can’t, and you then explain why. When the wallet is opened you show that the card you placed inside was your favorite card and the card that was behind a clear window the entire time was their freely named card.

Jim Buffaloe was a magician who specialized in coin magic. He created many original routines and techniques that appeared in the classic Bobo’s Modern Coin Magic and multiple Linking Ring Parades. His specialty was showpieces which combined unique props and coins. The coin section of this book is considered one of the ten best books about original coin magic.

►Tyvek Himber Envelopes:
Basically, it is a double sided envelope that is made to look the same on both sides. You can have predictions on each side for multiple out routines or switches. You can also use it as a coin envelope since that is what it most resembles.
