I was curious about the Pocket Portal and got some to play with. Wanted to see how an un-gimmicked coin purse can be used to steal coins from and to also load coins into while making it look natural.

It turns out that clever handling combined with the design of the purse make it relatively easy. The tutorial teaches many techniques and routines, but I think the simple penetration (seen in the trailer) is a quick routine you can do anytime, while using the purse to carry your favorite coin tricks.

►Pocket Portal:

This is an un-gimmicked leather coin purse that allows you to do some nice coin magic. Although it is examinable and does not have any hidden secrets the design allows for some interesting techniques where you can use it to steal coins from the purse and load coins into the purse.

The purse comes with a one-hour and fifteen-minute video tutorial by Samuel King and Eric Jones where they share their many ideas, techniques, and routines. You will learn many different routines with vanishes, appearances, transpositions, penetrations, etc. There is even a card trick taught.

TIES is Penguin Magic’s version of the invisible elastic bands that were first introduced by Finn Jon. You get ten TIES in every package.

But what makes this package so very special is the two-hour video tutorial that comes with the TIES. It features Nick Locapo, Nathan Kranzo, Cash Wallace, Travis Askew, Seth Race, and Nick Popa performing and teaching their favorite routines.

You will learn levitations and animations using bills, receipts, ChapStick, rubber bands, playing cards, silverware, food, rings, water bottles, cell phones, and more. And the routines you will learn can obviously be adapted to other objects.

►Roth Coin Boxes:

What is a Roth Coin Box? Some people assume that it is a standard type Okito Box with a slot in it, that is now commonly called a Slot Box. Of course, a slot is involved but there is much more that goes into making this box so very special.

All the boxes are precision made from Brass to David Roth’s original specifications. They are made to be used with US Half Dollars but can be used with similar sized, or smaller coins. Both sets of boxes come with access to a 50-minute video tutorial by David Roth where he discusses and teaches all the intricacies of the box, the sleights than can be used with it, and his favorite coin box routine which can only be done with this set.
