Every day carry or EDC is a phrase that many magicians use as a guide to look for magic they can carry with them and it has once again become a category in magic. In the late 1800s and early 1900s there was a category in all magic catalogs called Pocket Magic, which were tricks you can carry with you.
Of course sleight of hand magic with objects found around you is the ultimate version of this, but us magic manufacturers can’t sell that. I have always carried stuff to play with but the tricks keep changing, so my acronym would probably be OCM (Occasionally Carried Magic).
Coin Magic is popular because it is intrinsically EDC. Below you will find another new download with some advanced EDC magic by Dr. Michael Rubinstein.
►Coin Magic Movements:
Michael Rubinstein performs and teaches six stand-up coins across routines that use regular coins with different techniques, strategies, and routining. You can learn to perform them as taught or take your favorite sequences to create your own routine.
Routines include: Long Term Short Term, The Specciolini Brothers Coins Across V1, The Specciolini Brothers Coins Across V2, Retro Fly, Impossible 4 Coin Trick V1, and Impossible 4 Coin Trick V2.
Techniques explained include: Pseudo Himber Count, The Bronx Take, Angle Palm, Rubinstein Click Pass, Nowhere Palm, Retention Shuttle Pass, Utility Switch, Matting, Drop Load, Purse Palm, Purse Palm Subtlety, R.O.P.S. Discrepancy Count, Changeover/Transfer Palm, and R.O.P.S. Move.

Michael recently autographed more copies of his book for me. Here is a photo of him doing it in the back of my car at a parking lot.
I didn’t mention it earlier because most of them were snatched by magicians on the notification list.

►BACK IN STOCK:
Coincidentally, I just received two items that have been part of my OCM arsenal for many many years. The trailers show you the routines that I use when performing them.
►Sakkaku Scale Puzzle:
As you talk about optical illusions you show three plastic strips. Two of the strips have cats printed on them and one has a ruler. Using the ruler you show that all are the same size.
Then the cats appear to get shorter and longer and each time you use the ruler to show that they apparently did change in size. This looks so impossible that you will fool yourself every time you demonstrate it.

►Origamagic White Crane:
A white tissue is crumpled into a ball and tossed from hand to hand. As it is being tossed it visually begins folding itself into an origami crane!
This outstanding effect comes from Japan and uses the latest in fabric technology that does all the work for you. It is easy self-working and requires no skill at all.

►WOW 7: Kreskin Edition:
This is a very limited The Amazing Kreskin Edition that includes two books from his personal inventory.
It is an ideal way to present a mentalism routine while discussing the most famous mentalist in history and justifying the use of the two hardcover books.
You can read the spectator’s mind and write down the word they are thinking of. Ask them to yell out the word they are thinking of, then show the audience the word you wrote. They match.
But it is not over yet. As an afterthought have the spectator think of the last word on that page. You can now proceed to dramatically spell out the thought of word for a double miracle.

PS: Bob Brown always preached that the pocket tricks he constantly performed helped make him become a top insurance salesman and were also used to get him the big shows.
“Theoretically any trick that is deceptive should be a good magical effect, but unfortunately this is not the case in actual practice.”
