FIRST: Since the Post Office and UPS have been given the designation of “Essential Services” across the United States, I will continue to ship your orders on a daily basis. Thank you for your continued support.
In the last newsletter I mentioned some life advice in relation to what is happening, and several people reached out to me to say they agreed with it.
I rarely give advice and I didn’t want you to think that I did that just to hear my own voice. I actually do take my own advice, and to prove it I want to show you these pictures of my car that were taken yesterday before I unloaded the cases into my warehouse.
During a casual conversation at the Toy Fair last month I discussed several projects with a company and what finally came out of it was this deal to purchase an amazing stock of products that I did not know existed. There are only two products but there are a lot of them. 41 cartons weighing around 1,200 pounds. Decided to make the long trip to their warehouse yesterday but was only able to fit around half the boxes in my SUV. There are around 6,000 pieces that will eventually be part of two different MyMagic branded products.
So, I will keep overextending myself. On the drive back I was thinking, “what if this doesn’t work out?” It made me think of Charlie Miller who was often referred to as the magician’s house guest. You see, he would show up for dinner at one of his friend’s homes and stay the night, or a week, a month and in some cases years as their semi-permanent house guest.
Luckily, I have a lot of Facebook friends. If I stay at each one’s home for one week… I am set for life. So be careful if I show up for dinner.
For the past few months, maybe years, I have been bugging Bill Schmeelk to make more of his “Hole In The Wall” illusion/puzzles. He finally decided to look into it and in the box where all the jigs are kept, he found eight completed units that he forgot about. Should he decide to make more they will likely be different from these. These are made of half-inch thick Sintra and the overall size is around 15” by 12”. If you are a collector of Wellington Enterprises’ products you probably never got one of these or even knew they existed… Until now.
Hole In The Wall:
This is a very old illusion that was first published by Martin Gardner. You basically show two pieces of red plaques with a large brick wall design.
You put the two pieces next to each other to form a large wall. But when you turn both pieces around the wall seems to have a hole on the other side. So, it can be shown as a solid wall on one side and a wall with a big hole on the other.
You can present it anyway you like. You can talk about how Houdini escaped from jails, how border walls work, about how rats sneak into homes, how a construction job went bad, or anything you like. You can even explain how it works using the mathematical principles involved, which is probably the most interesting presentation.

CATCH ME & WIN MORE INFO & BUY: HERE Gene Maze’s fantastic chain routine combines the Fast & Loose or Endless Chain routines with the classic Three Card Monte and Three Shell Game scams. When the routine was originally published many top pros built their own sets and put it into their shows. The object is for the spectator to pick the peg that catches. No matter how hard they try they can’t find it. Even though you keep making it easier and giving them tips, they always fail. Of course, the secret lies in the fact that you have total control of whether the spectator wins or loses. | MAGICIAN BADGE MORE INFO & BUY: HERE This is a real Magician Badge that was fashioned on the badges used by law enforcement agencies around the world. It adds a level credibility to magicians while at the same time adding humor to your introductions. It is a great icebreaker. The next time you walk up to strangers you can pull out the badge as you say your name and title of Magician. It causes a moment of panic followed by relief and laughter. |
RAINBOW PHANTOM CARD MORE INFO & BUY: HERE This is one of the most ingenious technologies that has been applied to magic. It was created and patented by Higar and has already been released in many different forms. Perhaps the best magic application is with playing cards. The card is examinable, but when photographed, the photograph in the spectator’s smart phone appears to have turned into the spectator’s selection. | PING PONG BALL VASE MORE INFO & BUY: HERE A beautiful hand spun Ping Pong Ball Vase made of a single piece of exotic wood. It comes with a Ping Pong ball and a matching shell (ball vase type). This is one of the few Ball Vases that uses a recognizable object, or what is termed an organic prop. Since the popularity of Beer Pong, that uses the same balls, has far surpassed the popularity of Table Tennis this has become a very common object. |
