The cost of labor and materials used to make any kind of coin tricks or anything that has handwork has skyrocketed. Machine shops have become much more conscience of their hourly cost of labor, rent, electricity, etc… and the cost of raw materials has also gone through the roof. I am actually surprised that the cost of magic has pretty much stayed the same.

Today I will offer you some more exclusive and very limited coin magic and will discuss each individually.

Firstly, I was finally able to make Dollar size Eraser Coins. Once we figured out the perfect sizing for the larger coins it was time to invest in the new tooling. I just received a small supply of Eisenhower Eraser Coins, but the good news is that I will now be able to make Morgans. Although at the moment, the price of silver is a little too high.

    ►Eisenhower Dollar Eraser Coin:

The eraser coin is the most devious and easiest of the many David Roth creations. It combines an optical illusion with a great premise. Many people consider it his greatest routine.

You show a coin and then using an eraser you begin rubbing the edge of the coin until it slowly starts disintegrating. You do the same to the other end of the coin until the round coin begins to look like a triangle. You then start erasing the face of the coin until it becomes blurry… except for the area that you were holding with your fingers. The unique looking coin you are left with is now examinable.

Ted Bogusta recently re-started his machine shop that is set up to manufacture fine coin gaffs and started offering me some exclusives. You may have figured that out when I offered you his brilliant Minted last week. Here are two items that are very limited.

►CSC: Copper Silver Copper – Silver Edition:

This is a gorgeous take on the CSB (Copper Silver Brass) coin set using real coins from around the world.

Before CSB, there was Two Copper One Silver. It used a half dollar and two copper coins. The copper coins magically changed places with the silver coin. The plot was easy to follow and the effect was amazing.

When Presley Guitar swapped out the English penny for a Chinese coin, the hole in the coin added another level of deception. As the hole in the Chinese coin ruled out the possibility of a shell. Though with three metals to keep track of, the plot was not as easy to follow for some spectators.

This is a limited-edition set using Walking Liberty halves, East African dimes and Mexican 20 Centavos, all genuine vintage coins. It gives the best of both worlds.

    ►Casino CB Set:

This set is unique and the first of its kind “copper/silver” coin set. It uses a real brass Sahara Casino Slot Token from Las Vegas and a copper plated and antiqued 1965 Winston Churchill Queen Elizabeth Commemorative Crown coin. Both coins are the same size as a US Eisenhower or Morgan Dollars.

In this condition, the copper coin looks similar to the traditional English penny on one side and a Churchill profile on the other. The coins are large and heavy for maximum visibility.

Dr. Michael Rubinstein was here this week to shoot some segments for a new coin release of his I am working on. He also delivered some more of his The Other Hand and Migrate routines.

He recently received an outstanding review for his Other Hand Routine and you can read the review on the product page.

    ►The Other Hand:

Dr. Michael Rubinstein performed “The Other Hand,” his new coin plot, on season nine of Penn & Teller: Fool-Us.

After recording the formal TV version of the routine, he decided to continue refining the routine and eventually created a close-up version that is shorter, more direct, and easier to do. The new close-up version uses the same props but is streamlined for more intimate performances.

Since the props involved are difficult to put together, he decided to release a limited edition for serious coin magicians and collectors.

    ►OUR LATEST RELEASE:

    ►Scents Of Wonder:

Although there are many different types of routines that these special flower cards can be used for, the main routine revolves around a prediction.

You begin by writing a prediction on a paper napkin and leaving it in full view. You then show a stack of business sized cards with pictures of different types of flowers on them and have one selected in a very fair manner.

When the selected card is turned over it is seen to be a rose. You then reveal that what you wrote on the napkin was rose.

    ►New eBay Auctions:

Many of my auction items sold last Sunday but I continued to add more. There are another 74 auctions expiring next Sunday and Monday. Lots of tricks this time.

I will then take an eBay sabbatical till mid-May so I can focus on the new items I am planning to bring to the upcoming 4F and MAWNY conventions.

    Stay happy, Meir
