MyMagic eNewsletter #927
May 8, 2021
Last week I introduced you to RPR Magic’s 3D Kennedy Collection which uses 3D coins to do the 15 routines and techniques taught by Rocco and Perry on the hour-long tutorial. This week we will take a look at their other recent release using Sponge Balls.
Many years ago, Rocco released a similar gimmick using coins, which I saw him perform with many times. It was visual appearances, vanishes, and transpositions of coins. The same system has been modified to work with a larger and more visual red sponge ball and was renamed as Atlas. Watch the trailer to see some of the visuals possible. Although it is a close-up item, I think it is much more suitable for stand-up, parlor, and stage magic. It would also work great at family shows.
►Atlas:
Atlas is a gimmicked sponge ball that that can be used for visual appearances and vanishes at your fingertips. The unique gimmick allows you to also visually change the balls into anything of similar size. There are many other possibilities, like transpositions, color changes, or simply a running gag throughout your show where sponges keep appearing and disappearing out of thin air. You can even do a miser’s-dream-type of routine using sponges.

►3-D Kennedy Collection:
A new set of coins made out of real US Half Dollars with the 3D effect of Kennedy’s face bulging out of the coin. These coins could easily be combined with the routines you already perform or even used instead of the coins you already have. They add a novel visual to the magic.
The hand-crafted, five-coin set includes: A protruding Kennedy with pushed-through back. A protruding Kennedy with a flush back. A protruding Folding Kennedy Half Dollar. A 3-D Radical Karate Kennedy. A matching regular Kennedy Half Dollar.

I also received many packages, from various vendors, that are full of the items that sold out recently.
If I listed them here, this newsletter would get too long. So, I opted to start with the three Alakazam items below (the rest will follow next week). Note that the best-selling What Happens In Vegas added the 7D as a third force card option.
►What Happens In Vegas:
An excellent double-prediction routine using a souvenir deck of Las Vegas playing cards.
The backs are shown to represent the many known Vegas Casinos and a spectator selects one of them. The spectator then selects a card from the face up deck.
You then show a prediction that matches the two freely selected cards, they are seen to match your prediction with both the playing card face and the casino back. (Or you can turn over the cards during the routine as seen on the trailer for a much stronger effect).

►The Collector:
A very easy, clean, direct, and impossible routine with a surprise ending.
The story revolves around a serial killer who collected personal items from the murder victims.
Your spectator is enlisted as a psychic investigator who must find the serial killer from a stack of possible suspects. The spectator’s selection is proven to be true in a surprising revelation.

►Swindle:
This is a simple and direct fooler that is self-working. Two tins are shown, and the spectator freely selects one, with the option to change their mind.
The one they end up with is full of junk while the one that is left for you is full of money. You can put anything you like inside the tins so they can be themed for the people you are working for.

►eBay:
Added a few more fun things to my eBay auction that expires on Sunday night. You might want some of them.
