A new movie called “Pick a Card” (aka “Afula Express”) which was produced in Israel and won six Israeli Academy Awards including best picture, opened the New York Israel Film Festival. The main character, David, is a mechanic who dreams of becoming a magician and hooks up with Shimon, a Romanian immigrant who’s an expert magician. The festival will tour the US and is a likely candidate for limited theatrical distribution in the U.S.(3/29)
