Today I will introduce you to the second David Roth release. The Portable Hole was one of his favorite creations and was the routine he used to open all his formal close-up shows with.
The routine introduces two impossible objects, a Portable Hole which David describes as a symbol of a hole that acts like a real hole, and a Bagless Purse which is a purse frame that represents an incomplete object that works as if it was complete.
Both are used to create remarkable looking magic where coins repeatedly appear, disappear, and penetrate objects in impossible ways. The best way to appreciate what happens is to watch David perform his complete routine: HERE
Since the routine is sleight-of-hand based and does not use any gimmicked coins or objects, I decided to make the 30-minute tutorial as comprehensive as possible. It is likely the best instructions you will find on how to properly learn and execute the techniques.
David Roth considered this to be one of his best routines and the one he used to open his act with throughout his career.
The routine introduces two impossible objects, a Bagless Purse and a Portable Hole, which are used to create some incredible magic where coins repeatedly appear and disappear in remarkable ways. The best way to appreciate what happens is to watch David perform his complete routine on the trailer.
In addition to David Roth teaching the entire Portable Hole routine you also get detailed tutorials for the Retention Vanish, Shuttle Pass, Michael Skinner’s Spidergrip Vanish, and the Kick Move. Mastering these sleights can open up an entire world of coin magic for you and these might be the best tutorials available.

►Twist Till It Hurts:
This was one of Geoff Latta’s favorite creations because it featured many visual sequences and a kicker ending. It is also structured in such a way that knowledgeable magicians would have a lot of trouble following the methods involved. And best of all it is impromptu and could be done with a borrowed deck.
The routine is basically a multi-phase twisting effect with a kicker ending. It would be much easier for you to watch the trailer than to read a detailed description of every phase.
In addition to a detailed explanation of the routine you are also taught the best methods to execute all the techniques used. Performed and explained by Meir Yedid.

PS: David Roth’s Portable Hole was likely inspired by the 1955 cartoon, The Hole Idea, that introduced the concept. Watch it: HERE
