    Meir’s Muses
    MyMagic eNewsletter #998
    March 10, 2022

Since I basically stopped performing magic professionally to focus on my magic business I think about magic as a hobbyist and student… it is a lot more fun to approach it that way.

One of the things I like to focus on is a category that all magic catalogs used to highlight that no longer exists. It is “Pocket Magic.”

Magic that you can carry with you, fits in your pocket and can be performed at a moment’s notice. You may have suspected that based on many of my releases.

But for some reason the two most popular products over the past few years have been my Catch Me & Win and my Gigantic Comedy Prediction which are both formal close-up and parlor routines. That is why I introduced you to the Nesting Bottles last week. A stand-up routine.

While at NEMCON last week I met with Tom Yurasits who invented the original Confusing Crayons and I purchased all he had left. It is a terrific routine for family audiences that I have sold out of many times in the past.

    ►Confusing Crayons:

The “Topsy-Turvy Bottles” is a classic of family magic shows and has even been used by comedy magicians at comedy clubs and on TV. The plot is a simple “do-as-I-do” routine where the spectator follows your actions and but every time they lift their tube, their bottle is upside-down while yours is right-side-up.

Tom Yurasits’ took that routine and re-engineered it to work with giant plastic crayons.

Comes complete with two tubes (11.5”x3”), Two large crayons (10.5”x2.5”), a special gimmick that makes everything work and written instructions.

    ►Multicolor Nesting Bottles:

The title of this product also describes what it is. You get five bottles that nest into each other or in reverse you have one bottle that can be used to multiply into five.

You can do a lot more with this set than what is on the trailer. For example, you can easily keep all five bottles inside any production apparatus and produce them one at a time. The labels on the bottles are basic but you can easily cover them with real labels or even print your own.

Comes with five metal bottles that range in size from 8.5”x3” to 10”x3.75” and a sheet of basic instructions. Limited Quantity.

You may remember that my portion the Doc Docherty’s Cali Cards booklet that is limited to 50 signed and numbered copies sold out very fast a few weeks ago. He has since agreed to sell me the rest of the copies and they arrived today. This will likely be your last chance to get a copy. You can read the Feb 23 newsletter about them: HERE

    ►Cali Cards:

A limited-edition Doc Docherty The Going to California booklet.

Routines include: Choose This Bag Opener, Easy Double Leaper, Take The Slip, and The Cheat Always Wins. Also includes interviews with Paul Gertner and Paul Vigil.

Bonus Download: Solid Cut: Direct from Doc’s Magic Castle Act. Learn an excellent self-working routine you can do and start performing after your purchase.

    ►eBay:

Just added two more original Jerry’s Nugget decks and some other stuff you might like. As usual all auctions will end on Sunday night.

    Stay happy, Meir

PS: Just finalized the purchase to the rights of three tricks and an outstanding book that I can’t wait to share with you.
