Louise Mandrell who is performing at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks, NV through Mar. 3 has just added magic to her show. She spent $200,000 for 12 minutes of magic which features a Ford truck disappearing, and changing four white doves into her white bulldog Buckley. Peter Pit (Hermann Claassen) died on Sunday night Feb. 21 at the Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles where he has been for the past month for treatment. Pit moved to the US from Holland in 1960 and became known for his routine with a dancing cane with which he won many awards and made many TV appearances including the Ed Sullivan Show. For more than a decade he booked the shows at the Magic Castle and has been a consultant and teacher to many popular magicians. Able to perform in five languages he was a very popular emcee at magic shows worldwide. A memorial is being scheduled for Monday Mar. 1 at the Monte Carlo Hotel in Las Vegas to coincide with the World Magic Seminar. He was reported to be 65 years old.(2/23)

Ken Allen will be the guest of honor at this year’s NEMCON (New England Magicians Conference) on Saturday Mar. 13 in North Haven, CT.
