MyMagic eNewsletter #1,246
October 26, 2024
The last newsletter was accidentally sent very early in the morning, so I am repeating part of it below. But I am also offering a new download.
Derek Dingle was a master at close-up magic and one of the few highly and equally skilled card and coin magicians. His specialty was intimate magic for a tiny group of people. He preferred working for 2-5 person groups.
But when forced to work on stage or even at formal close-up gatherings he had one favorite creation that he always used. A comedy routine with three balloons and a selected signed card. Watch: HERE
The tutorial includes a live performance, a studio performance, and a studio explanation. All the footage was also AI enhanced for optimal HD viewing.
►Card In Balloon:
Whenever Derek Dingle had to perform on stage his goto routine was always his version of the Card In Balloon. It was a funny stand-up routine where a selected and signed card appears in a chosen balloon.
The basic routine begins with a playing card being selected and signed. Then three balloons are inflated, two round ones and one long one, creating a funny display. As the spectator decides which ballon to use the long one flies away. Of the two remaining balloons, one of them now deflates, leaving the single round balloon. When the balloon is popped the selected signed card appears in its place, between your hands.

Nail writers are a secret weapon that mentalists use to predict the future and prove they knew the recent past.
There have been dozens of variants manufactured with different designs and different methods of attachment to the thumb. Every user has their favorite, which they think allows them to have the best handwriting and control. The original Epic Writer was one of the first whose writing was with a ballpoint pen (the first I ever saw and used was by Finn Jon).
This is a new and improved design that was remanufactured of new material that allows for easy replacements of the ballpoint writing instrument. If you ever used a nail writer, wanted to use one, or like to carry it as an out when someone says, “what am I thinking of?” this may be your best solution.
As a magician I used to open my shows at Mostly Magic and at some conventions using a nail writer with my presentation for Harry Anderson’s “The Children’s Yard Sale” which appeared in Wise Guy and earlier in his Eight Brass Monkeys booklet.
►Epic Writer V2:
The original Epic Writer was an innovative ballpoint pen nail writer that was easier to use than most nail writers and the unique design allowed for better handwriting.
This updated version is made of rubbery plastic and is much easier to reload when the ink runs out. The unique, flat design stabilizes your writing, making it one of the easiest-to-use writing devices. It also has a magnet attached to it so you can easily find and ditch it.
In addition to the writers, you will get both video and printed tutorials for various routines you can do with it that were created by Mark Elsdon, Luca Volpe, Raven Gaerloch, Atlas Brookings, and James Anthony.

►OUR LATEST RELEASE:
►Cointemplate:
It is an impossible routine that can be performed as a stand-alone piece or as part of a longer coin set.
The basic routine involves two coins. A Kennedy Half Dollar, a copper English Penny and a see-through glass plate.
Your friend holds the glass plate between their hands as you balance the two coins on your fingertips. You place your hand with the coins under the plate so all can be seen. In an instant one of the coins penetrates the plate so there is only one coin under the plate while the other is sitting on top of the plate.

PS: As I was putting together the lineup for the Halloween Magic Review show I realized that it had four headliners. Most shows would be lucky with just one as a closer. They are all doing it as a favor to me and we are planning on having fun. Hope you can join us: HERE
