I used to say that the best way to fool me is to use hidden mathematics or a hidden invisible thread. I am slowly realizing that there is also a third way: Layered methods which seemingly cancel each other. For a long time, these layered methods caused confusion and lengthy procedures. But things are changing as they are becoming shorter routines with more direct presentations. A good example is Zodiac.

    â–ºZodiac:

You get two versions you can perform. A comedic one using an extra sheet of horoscopes and the standard serious version using the horoscopes printed on the back of the card case.

The basic routine begins with you showing a blue deck of cards with one red prediction card hidden inside. A spectator is given access to a horoscope for them to find their sign and lucky number.

They use that number to count down to a card in the deck. When the red prediction card is removed from the deck, written on its back is the name of the selected card and the astrological sign of the spectator.

Michael Breggar’s Flat Dice has sold out multiple times. The last time I offered them I told you that the next time I get some the price will likely skyrocket. Lucky for us Michael agreed to let me have the last 15 sets from the second run at the original price. If you were thinking about it, this will be your last chance to get it at this price.

    â–ºFlat Dice:

The basic routine starts out with six dice which are tossed around while your back is turned. The spectator totals all the numbers as you reveal the total without ever turning around.

For the second phase you introduce three more flat dice, making it even more impossible, and repeat the sequence to tell them what number they are thinking of. Only this time you write a prediction while your back is turned.

The final phase starts with the spectator rolling all nine dice, turn them all so the odds or evens are showing, they then turn any of the dice over and total the face-up numbers. The total matches the photographic prediction that has been in full view.

    â–ºPocket Slot Machine:

The basic routine is very simple. A spectator thinks of one of the numbers in the inner disc and turns the outer disc that many times to see what slot machine symbol they arrive at.

You can immediately read their mind and tell them the symbol they are thinking of even though your back was turned. You can even do this while you walk away to another room. Everything is examinable and it can be immediately repeated.

    Stay happy, Meir

PS: When placing orders please include apartment, unit, suite numbers… The US post office changed the way they do things, and I must have them to ship stuff since a building can now have different 9-digit zip codes depending on the floor or location you are at.
