Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga which featured four books that sold more than 120 million copies that were made into five movies was a phenomenon. They are described as “vampire-themed fantasy romance novels.” I am one of the few who did not read the books or watch the movies. But that does not stop me from introducing you to Todd Karr’s Undead!
What Todd has created are very clever cue cards in the shape of bookmarks that will let you know the identity of a visual word in the first line of every page of all four books. The books are huge with around 2,446 pages whose information you will have access to, so you can apparently read minds.
You can do the book test with one book or all four. Todd also explains how to do the routine with a borrowed book at a library, bookstore or even someone’s home where you never even handle the book.
Although the books are not included with the gimmicks and instructions, they are very easy to find online since they did sell millions. I bought used copies of all four books on eBay for $17.95 postpaid!
Although it is an ideal routine for Vampire conventions. Mere mortals would enjoy it too.
►Undead:
This is a clever book test using ordinary books. The books that are used for this routine are the widely popular and best-selling Twilight Saga Series by Stephenie Meyer which consists of four books. The books are Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. All four of which were also made into movies.
The basic routine is having a book selected, a spectator names any page, turns to it and begins reading it. You have them concentrate on the first line of text, and begin describing what you envision them reading, you proceed by naming or spelling a significant word on that line that they were supposedly thinking of.

Wanted to remind you that the introductory price for René Lavand’s Three Bread Crumbs download will expire next Tuesday.
►Three Bread Crumbs:
René Lavand’s multiphase routine with three breadcrumbs and a small cup. You continually place two of the breadcrumbs into the cup and one in your pocket, but when the cup is tipped over three breadcrumbs roll out. This is repeated many times and it gets more and more impossible each time. Even when the spectator puts the breadcrumbs into the cup they still come back. As a finale all the breadcrumbs vanish.
On this video tutorial René teaches the full routine and all the techniques and variations that are used throughout.

►Sharky:
This is a classic routine based on Bill Nord’s Skullo-cation. You begin by having a card looked at in the deck, then you miss at five attempts to find it… but have no fear… you have a trained shark that can find it.
You place the five wrong cards in the toy shark’s mouth and all of a sudden, it finds the selection which is the only one left in its mouth. The deck can then be shown to be missing the selection.

PS: Since many of you liked and purchased the P. Cinimod collectible item in the last newsletter I am considering making this a series, since I have around five more of his items at the warehouse. Will have to learn them, practice them, and make a trailer first.
