As this email is being delivered I am having dinner with a bunch of my friends where we will be eating nothing but …finger foods. You see tomorrow August 16, will be the 32nd anniversary of my car accident where I ended up losing a few fingers. The story is described in my new book.

What has struck me as funny is for the past few years several magicians who brought up the irony of the accident thought that I created the finger routines after the accident. I guess so much time has passed that stories morph. I was reminded of this last week at Magic Live where I launched the book. I was surprised how many people believe that version of events.

I first started working on putting a finger routine together around 1978 (40 years ago! I think I was still in the womb at the time!). Most of the routine was in place around 1979 and the car accident took place in 1986. That is why there are a bunch of videos on YouTube with me doing Finger Fantasies right handed as opposed to the way I do it now… left handed.

It is also why some of my friends like to say that I am the only person to win the SAM Close-Up Contest as a righty (1981) and a lefty (1988). I rarely remember this day until I get into my car and start hearing Elvis Presley songs on the radio. You see he died on 8/16/1977 and they always play marathons of his music on that day.

These are very difficult to make, and I always have trouble keeping them in stock. Ted made a bunch of them for me to perform at Magic Live and I have four of them left…and to be honest I have no idea when he will be able to make anymore.

Another item I have trouble keeping in stock is this excellent rope routine using very thick rope and an instructional DVD by the original founder of the company, Mr. Seo himself.

There were two other items I was planning to mention in this email but unfortunately one sold out as soon as I added it to the website and the other did not fit in my luggage and will arrive with the rest of my booth in around two weeks.
