If you recently purchased the Solomon’s Mind book, or any other book from me you probably noticed that I included a custom bookmark.
I did this because the books in my library have playing cards in them to keep my place and I wanted something nicer. If you received the bookmark, you likely did not notice that the pictures on the two sides are similar but different in what I consider to be humorous. Can you spot the difference in this photo?
Below you will find two new items. A visual quickie that I find very funny and surprising (coincidentally by the same inventor of the Zig-Zag Penetration that keeps selling out), and a download of Dan Garrett’s kid show lecture notes.
►Instant Tablecloth:
A fun little self-working trick you can carry with you. It is also extremely visual as it turns a two-dimensional object into a three-dimensional reality.
You show a photo of a table with a red tablecloth on it.
With a flick of the photo the tablecloth (red silk) jumps out, and the photo of the table no longer shows the cloth. And with a simple handling at the end everything can be examined. It takes less than a minute to reset.

►The Wizard’s Way:
Subtitled as “Dan The Wizard On Performing For Children”. The manuscript was used as lecture notes for Dan’s presentations that taught magicians how to do magic for children, taught the scripted routines he performed, while sharing his 25+ years of experience as a family entertainer.

►Fated Fold:
A sneaky method is built into a printed sheet of paper which reveals two selected cards.
You begin by showing a piece of paper with many cards printed on both sides of it. You then have one or two spectators select specific cards from a deck.
The sheet is then handed to one or both to fold any way they like, backwards or forwards, until the sheet is folded into the shape of a single card.
Using a pair of scissors you then cut all the sides of the folded packet, creating sixteen paper playing cards. When the cards are spread, they are all face up except for two.
The two facedown cards remarkably match the two original selections.

A nice feature of the book is Eugene Burger’s input on the routines and the many insightful interviews with David about the magicians he grew up with in the Chicago area, and the stormy controversies that developed.
