I have written about card punches often so I will not rehash. You can search for those newsletters in the MagicTimes archives. One of the trailers I made included some historical context. You can watch it: HERE
I recently purchased a bunch of the Powell card punches which came with some trick ideas. Interestingly the routines focused on putting multiple bumps on the cards so they can be cut to, similar to using crimps.
Below you will find three different types of punches I think you will like.
►Invisible Card Punch:
The Invisible Card Punch, which sticks to your thumb or index finger, is used to mark cards, by adding a bump before performing, or secretly during a routine.
Now you can have a spectator freely select a card and secretly mark the card with a bump by pressing on the front or back of the card. The spectator can shuffle the cards as much as they want, and you can find it. The bump this makes is larger than the ones used for gambling which make it easier to cut to the card.

►Card Peggers:
This is a precision-made card pegger also known as a card punch that is based on the Dr. X design. A card punch is used to mark cards by adding invisible blisters to them (like braille) so you can find the cards you marked by feel.
These peggers were made by Nick Diffatte, who is the exclusive heir to the Dr. X line of gambling products and gimmicks and was taught how to make the various items that were produced under that brand.
These tiny peggers are secret weapons used by card cheaters to mark cards during play by attaching them to their fingers or thumb and putting in the work while handling the cards.

►Punch’d:
Punch’d is a 3D printed card punch that is exceptionally good. The design is based on the original metal ones that had an adjustable needle attached, but these are completely self-contained and the pin end is made of plastic as part of the original 3D printing.
The system was originally used by gamblers to mark cards with bumps that could be felt while dealing. Magicians then incorporated the pegs for all kinds of gambling demonstration, which led to all kinds of card tricks and finally the mentalism community embraced them.

►Puzzling Chocolate:
An impossible puzzle that gives the impression of magic. You show a bar of Mini Chocolates with 70 pieces of chocolate. You remove one piece leaving 69. You then rearrange the pieces so it looks like you still have 70 pieces left — an impossibility. But that is not all. You repeat the sequence two more times so a total of three pieces are removed and left in plain sight yet the chocolate bar is still complete with 70 countable pieces!
There is even a plastic frame included which fits snugly around the 70 piece puzzle both before and after the three pieces are removed.

►Gift Boxes Illusion:
Originally created by Roger Shepard and first published in 1990 under the name “Turning the tables”, using tabletops, which is why it is commonly known as the Shepard Tables and the Shepard Tabletop Illusion.
In an effort to make the illusion play as a magic routine and to be able to present it standing up, the new artwork was placed on a steel board and the lids of the boxes were made into magnets. This allows you to visually demonstrate the illusion and take credit for the magic.

►OUR LATEST RELEASE:
►Quadruple Spellbound:
Originally created in the 1970s and first published in the 1980s, this was one of Simon Aronson’s favorite routines, that he always carried with him and performed often.
The basic effect: You show an American half dollar. You wave your hand over it, and it changes into a Japanese coin with a hole through it. Wave your hand over the Japanese coin and it changes into a copper English penny. Wave your hand over the penny and it changes into an African coin with a hole in it. As a finale, the African coin changes back into the American half dollar.
In addition to the custom-made set of gaffed coins you also get a video tutorial with Simon Aronson performing and explaining his original handling, Meir Yedid teaching his versions of the Quadruple Spellbound, and Sol Stone teaching his Patriotic Poker Chips.
