Meir’s Muses
MyMagic eNewsletter #1,043

Many years ago, I introduced you to Kelvin Chow’s Quiver, which was the best switching purse ever made for small objects. For more than a year I had an informal exclusive on them and you purchased hundreds of them from me.
You can read two of the newsletters from 2017 about them: HERE and HERE
As a matter of fact every time you purchase Quivers from me you still get Kelvin’s original no-frills tutorial for Quiver in your media library, in addition to the link to the new slick tutorial that everyone else gets.
The Quivers have just jumped to a new distributor, which makes them available worldwide. I did receive a bunch this week so if you don’t already have some, you should get one now. Both sizes are in stock.
►Quiver:
Kelvin Chow has designed one of the best and cleverest switching coin purses. It functions the same way as the classic change bag. What makes it special is that it can be handed to a spectator to open and they will always open it to the main compartment. You will be the only one who can open it to the secret compartment.
It is a very powerful switching device for the close-up magician and mentalist. It is very versatile and practical. It can be used to switch, vanish or produce coins, cards, billets, keys, or just about anything that can be placed inside. You can even use it as a regular coin purse.

►Zerox:
This system creates a visual change of one card for another, simulating what a photocopier can do by shining a light source during the change of the card.
The deceptive source and appearance of the light is just as magical as the printing itself and can be applied to other routines. The sleights involved are simple, and the gimmicks make this charming trick fun.

►Across:
This is a very clever and relatively simple method and gimmick that can be used to perform the classic plot of penetrating one object with another and then restoring it at the end.
This version, however, uses an Oreo type cookie that will be penetrated and then restored… but, unlike all other versions of this classic plot: The cookie can be borrowed, examined, and at the end examined again, and even eaten!

Stay happy, Meir
PS: Was thinking about putting together a version of my full-evening close-up show and considering calling it, “Meir Yedid & His Nine Assistants.” What do you think. I am mainly interested in people who think it is a bad idea and why.
“Close-Up Magicians love card tricks and coin tricks but if they are going to become true entertainers, then they must become more versatile and build a repertoire of varied effects.” …Bill Miesel (Forks Full Of Appetizers, 2022)
