MyMagic eNewsletter #819

Who would have thought that all those science fiction shows about zombies and viruses would happen in real life? A worldwide lockdown, curfews, store closures, no live entertainment, people buying and hoarding resources, scientists racing for a cure… only thing missing is people eating each other’s brains!
Beyond the inconveniences and health issues, the part that will affect more of us than anything else is the financial impact to the gig economy, service economy, self-employed, and small businesses.
Liquidity is always an issue when income dries up since all these professions depend on constant reinvestment to survive.
Let me paraphrase some Ace Greenberg advice. “When other companies start firing, we should start hiring, when others start downsizing, we should start expanding.” His point was that everything in life is cyclical and if you push forward during the hard times you will be well positioned when things start picking up.
So, this is our opportunity to pursue our dreams, learn, practice, and prepare for our future. …By the way, that is easier said than done, it is very difficult, and will often not work out. But it is worth a try…
My plan is to continue to go to work everyday and continue to ship your orders as long as the Post Office and UPS continue their services. Should they stop I will put more effort into my downloads.
A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to Nick Diffatte as the future of comedy magic and his new book, Funny.

What you probably don’t know about Nick is that he was mentored by “Dr. X” about the art of card and game cheating and was taught how to manufacture the Dr. X product line. He is also the only one who has permission to produce his products. The Card Punches I am offering you today were among the first that Nick produced.
Card Punch:
This is a precision-made card punch based on the Dr. X design. A card punch is used to mark cards by adding invisible blisters to them (like braille) so you can find the cards you marked by feel.
These are the first batch that Nick made. Also included are basic instructions by Meir Yedid and the Edward Marlo Punch Deal Tutorial. Very limited quantity.

I have been ignoring my eBay store for the past few years but a friend of mine just dropped off two cases of collectible playing cards and I thought that this might be the right time to offer them to you. Also had a chance to add a few items to the eBay store.
There are currently 28 different items at auction that will expire on Sunday night. A direct link to the auction items is: HERE
If you want to visit the store and browse around go: HERE.
Warehouse Finds, Limited Quantities & Great Prices:
This is part of a large Joker Magic inventory I purchased recently. Many of these items are no longer being manufactured and the ones that are will not be restocked. Once they are gone… they are gone!
►Transforming Cube:
You can show the large die on all sides, place it in an empty box, close the lid and once it is open the box is found to be full of whatever you want to place inside it. Watch the trailer.

►Vanishing Cardbox:
Remove the cards from a card box and when you put the cards on the table or fan them the box completely disappears.

CATCH ME & WIN MORE INFO & BUY: HERE Gene Maze’s fantastic chain routine combines the Fast & Loose or Endless Chain routines with the classic Three Card Monte and Three Shell Game scams. When the routine was originally published many top pros built their own sets and put it into their shows. The object is for the spectator to pick the peg that catches. No matter how hard they try they can’t find it. Even though you keep making it easier and giving them tips, they always fail. Of course, the secret lies in the fact that you have total control of whether the spectator wins or loses. | MAGICIAN BADGE MORE INFO & BUY: HERE This is a real Magician Badge that was fashioned on the badges used by law enforcement agencies around the world. It adds a level credibility to magicians while at the same time adding humor to your introductions. It is a great icebreaker. The next time you walk up to strangers you can pull out the badge as you say your name and title of Magician. It causes a moment of panic followed by relief and laughter. |
RAINBOW PHANTOM CARD MORE INFO & BUY: HERE This is one of the most ingenious technologies that has been applied to magic. It was created and patented by Higar and has already been released in many different forms. Perhaps the best magic application is with playing cards. The card is examinable, but when photographed, the photograph in the spectator’s smart phone appears to have turned into the spectator’s selection. | PING PONG BALL VASE MORE INFO & BUY: HERE A beautiful hand spun Ping Pong Ball Vase made of a single piece of exotic wood. It comes with a Ping Pong ball and a matching shell (ball vase type). This is one of the few Ball Vases that uses a recognizable object, or what is termed an organic prop. Since the popularity of Beer Pong, that uses the same balls, has far surpassed the popularity of Table Tennis this has become a very common object. |
