One of the things I get on an almost daily basis are emails from customers whose order is taking longer than usual to get to them. The US orders are generally on time or have minor delays. And the delays are often caused by human error because they are understaffed.

Orders shipped outside the US are being delayed for various reasons, lack of planes leaving to certain countries, understaffing at every point in the delivery chain and certain countries are taking much longer to deliver the package once it gets there. Countries like the UK, France, Australia, and Mexico can sometimes have a 30+ day delay on some packages while other times it gets there in a few days. But the good news is that all the packages are getting there eventually. Nothing has been lost and the tracking eventually catches up to the packages.

Coincidentally the packages are often delivered a few days after I answer the email! Is it magic?

Definitely Not Marked:
A packet trick based on Jim Swain’s Capitulating Queens but is still quite different. It revolves around how gamblers cheat at cards by marking them and the many methods they use to mark the cards like daub, ink, nicks, etc…

GPS Regatta Deck:
I just got another shipment of these custom printed edge marked cards. The marking is excellent. If you ever came to my booth in the 1990s you probably bought a Tarbell Devil Deck from me. I used to be a master of that system and these decks come awfully close to those that had to be marked by hand.

Hot Rod Knife:
I also wanted you to take another look at what these custom hand-made doctor’s knives look like. Every piece of the six “hot rod” pieces is made of a different material. They are something you would be proud to own, carry and display.

Someone asked me if they can be handed out for examination. Because these are so beautiful, they should be. So here is how to end the standard routine so it is examinable.

There are two methods that I have used with a standard Hot Rod.

After you show that both sides are the same color you bring back one side with the excuse that you could have selected any of these colors. So now the knife has six on one side and the force on the other and is examinable.

The second method is less magical. I do not visually change the six colors to the force color. I push the knife through my fist and as it comes out the other side it has the force color showing. It theoretically only changed one side and everything is examinable.

I used to have an aversion to doing both those methods because somehow, I convinced myself that laypeople know about the paddle move! Which they do not.

The Queen of Hearts and the two black nines. All the cards are cleanly shown as you place the Queen face up between the two face down nines. In an eerie visual the Queen begins to stretch to one-and-a-half times its length for an impossible visual. The Queen is then shrunk back to its normal size and all three cards are cleanly shown on both sides. The Queen can then be given out as a souvenir.
