I first met Doc Eason more than forty years ago at a 4F convention where he brought the house down with a hysterical do as I do routine/practical joke with two shot glasses. He then kept repeating the piece downstairs at the bar for laypeople and the laughs were deafening. Since that time that piece has been taken and performed by hundreds of comedy magicians worldwide… very few realize that it was introduced into magic by Doc.
Since that time Doc has been hailed as a premiere bar magician, and he finally decided to write a book chronicling his career and adventures. Although no magic is taught in the book you can learn more from someone’s journey than you can from tricks. Get ready to be inspired.
Be warned though… just a few pages into his adventures could make you want to be a magician, a bar magician, and work behind a bar.
Throughout the book Doc also describes the magicians who he befriended and who inspired him. It is a fast and entertaining read. Finished it in a few hours over two days. And as a bonus Doc agreed to autograph all our copies.
►Cocktails & Doc Tales:
Sometimes you learn more about magic, being a magician, and get inspired about the magic you do by reading memoirs of successful magicians. There are very few good ones around. Doc Eason’s new book is an exceptional, entertaining, and fast read that will make you want to be a magician.
Doc explains why he decided to write the book, “Looking back over some forty-five years and thousands of shows, the details of what tricks I did may have faded, but what remains are warm feelings of camaraderie, laughter, amazement, life-long connections, and turning moments into memories. This book is full of those serendipitous moments that have most influenced my path and brought me to where I am today.
…This is my memoir. It is a story book, a joke book, a guide for aspiring bar magicians and maybe a little magic book rolled into one. The stories have shaped me as a person for nearly four decades; the fun, the drama and everything in between.”

In the last newsletter I introduced you to two downloads by two legends who created two unique applications for a folding coin. Wanted to remind you that the introductory price for both will end on Tuesday. See below:
►Slow Motion Coin Vanish:
This is a barehanded coin vanish that Michael Skinner used to impress magicians with.
You cleanly show a coin at your fingertips and slowly make it vanish. After which, you show your hands empty on both sides in a series of flourishy displays. You then reproduce the coin.

►Folding Coins Across:
This is a devious, easy, direct, and clean coins across routine that David Roth used to fool magicians with.
You begin with four coins held between your fingertips and one at a time they invisibly travel from one hand to the other in a remarkably fair and visual way.

►Folding Coin:
This is a nicely made, three-way folding US Coin that is profile cut to hide the seam (cut).
Available in real US Quarters and real US Kennedy Half Dollars.
You get a folding coin, extra bands, and access to some video performances.

“Frank [Everhart] impressed upon me how important it is that potential clients think of you as a person, not just the magician. ‘They can get a magician, but when they hire you, they are hiring Doc Eason.’”
