The Society of American Magicians Magic Endowment Fund is proud to announce the award of three full tuition scholarships to attend summer camp at Tannen’s Magic Camp and the West Coast Wizards Magic Camp. The scholarships include tuition as well as travel expenses, where applicable.

The first winner is Michael Freiman, 13 years old, of Oak Park, California, who has won a scholarship to attend the West Coast Wizards Magic Camp. Michael has been on television in such shows as The Extreme Gong Show (where he was a winner), Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, Magic ‘s Greatest Illusions, and the Donny and Marie Show. He has been featured in Magic Magazine and The L.A. Times. He entertains and performs walk around close-up magic at children’s birthday parties. He is a member of the Magic Castle Junior Program, as well as a member of the S.A.M.’s Society of Young Magicians (S.Y.M.).

The second award winner is Levi Steffersen, 13 years old, of Brooklyn, Wisconsin, who has won a full tuition scholarship plus travel expenses, to attend the Tannen Magic Camp. Levi attends Oregon Middle School. He loves to perform, including clowning, ventriloquism, drama and a bit of juggling.

The third award winner is Ruskin Alderfer, 14 years old, of Willow, New York, who has won a full tuition scholarship to attend the Tannen Magic Camp. Ruskin attends school at home. He has been interested in the art of Magic since he was three years old and performs professionally around the Woodstock, New York area. He is particularly interested in grand illusions and has presented illusions such as Metamorphosis and Interlude.We look forward to their continued development in the magical arts.
