NEW YORK, NY: The Parent Assembly #1 of the Society of American Magicians named Joseph Devlin it’s “Magician of the Year” 2000. DEVLIN worked his way from being a “street” magician to cabaret act, trade show performer and illusionist. New York audiences remember him from his many cabaret appearances at Mostly Magic. Devlin was the featured act in full evening show productions in Atlantic City. (Cabaret Tonight-Claridge Hotel) (Hollywood Magic-Sands) Devlin graced many Society of Magicians functions as well as other magic convention appearances with his “guitar” illusion. He was featured at the Hollywood Magic Castle.
Devlin is currently performing aboard Holland American lines “Rotterdam” cruising to South America. The award will be presented at the Society’s 92nd annual show, the oldest continuing magic show in the U.S. beginning in 1908. Entitled “SALUTE TO MAGIC” the show will be at the Tri-Beca Theater in New York City on April 15. Other acts appearing are Torkova, Jahmal Keyes & Tiphany, Arden James, Jania Taylor, Tina Lenert and emcee Mike Caveney.
