MyMagic eNewsletter #1,450
November 4, 2026
The Easy Breathers from the last newsletter sold out very fast. They are very time consuming to make, but I hope to get another batch in 1-2 weeks. If you want one, please sign up for notifications: HERE
When I first introduced you to Sam Sléibhín’s Coin Cylinder Nouveau I received many inquiries about the possibility of having them made for half dollars. It took a while, but they are here. Look at what can be done with them: HERE
I used Ted Bogusta’s Dual Position Triple Splits in the trailer. If you want those too, I have a few left: HERE
Now for a new download by Kainoa Harbottle who teaches you two amazing coin vanishes that you never knew existed. Although they are advanced and will take practice to master, they depend more on choreography than on difficult sleight-of-hand. Along the way he teaches some techniques you should know with some little known, handlings.
►Coin Cylinder Nouveau:
The Coin Cylinder Nouveau is a new method for having coins appear one at a time under a cylinder instead of all at once as in more traditional routines.
The cylinder is made from heavy duty plastic that is 3D printed to exact specifications to be used with US Half-Dollar and US Dollar sized coins.
The tutorial teaches you how the cylinder works and how to use it. You will also learn the basics of the routine as well as some application ideas. You can use any coin vanishes you like or create your own sequences for the devious prop.

►Flying Wombat & Squishy:
Kainoa teaches two original coin vanishes and appearances that you likely never saw anyone perform. Both are designed to be performed for people who are in front of you, and the vanishes and reappearances are very clean and magical.
►Flying Wombat: Designed to look like the gimmicked Raven vanish, a coin is placed on your palm and vanishes as you wave your hand over it. Another wave and the coin appears back on your palm. Uses one regular coin.
►Squishy: A coin is shown at your fingertips and as you squeeze it slowly disintegrates into nothing. Uses one regular coin.
Both vanishes include variations and optional handlings, although they take practice, they do not use difficult sleights, they are more choreography based.

►Dual Position Triple Split Coins:
Triple Split sets of thin magnetic coins have become very popular. They have also replaced the use of shells in many routines. There have been many versions released by many different companies but most are basically the same. Until now…
What Ted Bogusta created is a magnetic system he calls Dual Position which uses specially designed and manufactured magnets that allow the magnetic coins to overlap without aligning. This system allows you to place the overlapping coins in your hands, on the table, or even in the spectators’ hands.

►BACK IN STOCK:
Along with the new Cylinders I was able to get more of the Infinity Chalices in all versions. The most popular seem to be the Stainless Steel and Aluminum versions. I really thought the plastic one that can be used with borrowed Quarters was going to be the most popular.
►Infinity Chalice:
This is a terrific routine that combines many principles into one cohesive routine that is easy to follow and easy to perform.
You begin by showing a unique looking double-ended chalice and four coins. The four coins are placed into the top of the chalice and one-at-a-time they seem to penetrate the top of the chalice and magically work their way to the bottom in the cleanest and most direct way possible.

►eBay:
I continue to add stuff on a regular basis whenever I can. I am probably going to slow down though, the eBay room at the warehouse is now flooded with listed but unsold items. Thinking of concentrating on future auctions that expire on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.

PS: Take a look at Richard Kaufman’s 1979 Cardmagic book I have on eBay. What many people do not realize is that he only printed 200 numbered copies of the original hard covers, his first hardcover book. Almost all of the others on eBay that are offering the hardcovers and claiming them to be first editions are actually selling the 1981 Robbins edition.
“Few hobbies attract as diverse a crowd as does magic. Magicians are people of all types, famous and not so famous. There are young magicians… There are rich magicians and poor magicians, tall magicians and short magicians, people of many different ethnic backgrounds and many different occupations.”
…Micah Lasher (The Magic Of Micah Lasher, 1996)
