It has been a while since I released one of David Roth’s lecture notes as a PDF. This is the third in the series that he sold throughout his career. Marc DeSouza once mentioned to me that the reason he collects lecture notes is that the stuff in there are the routines that the lecturers had to perform and were not just ideas that were never perfected.

►David Roth Lecture Notes #3:
David Roth was the most influential and creative coin magician in history. He literally revolutionized the way coin magic was performed and perceived. This is a digital copy of what is likely his third set of lecture notes which were never dated and simply titled “A Lecture By David Roth.”
It contained the original routines that he wanted to perform, impress with, and teach at his lectures.

►Eraser Coin:
The eraser coin is the most devious and easiest of the many David Roth creations. It combines an optical illusion with a great premise. Many people consider it his greatest routine.
You show a coin and then using an eraser you begin rubbing the edge of the coin until it slowly starts disintegrating. You do the same to the other end of the coin until the round coin begins to look like a triangle. You then start erasing the face of the coin until it becomes blurry… except for the area that you were holding with your fingers. The unique looking coin you are left with is now examinable.

►Roth Coin Boxes:
David Roth was undoubtedly the master of magic with coin boxes. In his constant pursuit of the ultimate coin box routine, he created the Roth Coin Box which allowed him to be secretly one-ahead, and it also did a lot of the dirty work for him making the routines cleaner and more direct. In addition to the Roth Coin Box, you also get access to an in-depth tutorial where he teaches what he considered his best Coin Box Routine.

►Portable Hole:
The Portable Hole was one of the routines David used to build his reputation. It is often considered his signature routine. After he introduced the premise in the 1970s there were many variations where Portable Holes and Black Holes started appearing in print.
David considered this to be one of his best routines and the one he used to open his act with throughout his career.

►Blank Coins Routine:
In 1998 David Roth introduced the blank coins concept to magic. The idea was that blank coins can magically transform into any coin you want. Since that time, he continued to innovate, improve, and change his original routine. Along the way he also created some new techniques to facilitate the magic.
The video tutorial, that is included with this coin set, features David performing his original routine and the final version he decided to release. You will also learn Dr. Michael Rubinstein’s routine and some ideas by Meir Yedid.
