After a week of pitching you slum magic I feel dirty. So, let’s take a detour for a moment.

A few days ago, I went in for a root canal. So, what do you do all day when you are sluggish and on heavy pain killers?

I decided to re-dive into Steve Forte’s monumental, “Gambling Sleight Of Hand,” books!

In the magic section I came across this interesting bit about using gaffs: “…employed at the right time, gaffed cards can produce spectacular results. …ignoring the possibility of combining gaffed cards with manipulative skill is a colossal mistake.”

The book contains several routines that use a Stripper Deck or what Steve calls Wedgies. On page 840 you will find an excellent card control demo called, “Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks and Tens.” But if you go a bit further to page 920 you will find what I think is the best gambling demo with a Stripper deck I have ever seen… Brilliant! It is called, “Stripper Stack.” I realized that by also positioning the Royal Flush cards at specific locations you can easily give the deck another shuffle and cut and deal a Royal Flush for a finale.

So, what am I getting at? Besides the standard Stripper Decks that are found in magic shops there are several variations that are very little known that are far superior to what we are all familiar with. Steve mentions one variant on the bottom of page 840.

The version I want to discuss today is based on that variant. It’s a Double Wedge deck which is superior to the standard deck sold to magicians. The main difference is that a standard stripper is shaved on one side while the Double Wedge… you guessed it… is stripped on both sides, but with a major difference you will find out about after your purchase. The advantage is that it almost gives the cards a rocking feel and makes it almost impossible to miss the cards you want to strip, with one swipe.

But for me, the best part is that for a tabled stripout it allows you to seemingly strip the cards forward as if cutting the deck instead of to the sides. Another advantage is that it is much easier to use, so for people with dry hands or low sensitivity in their fingers this is ideal.

Steph who is making all the N-Stripper Decks you have been buying, just shipped me a bunch of them that he hand-made. He also shot a video tutorial with some basic information and even demoed the two Steve Forte tricks I mentioned above. Of course, there are hundreds of published tricks and applications using a Stripper and all can be done with these.

    ►Double Wedge Deck:

The Double Wedge deck is much easier to handle than a standard Stripper deck because one of the features of the deck is that the cards are shaved on an angle on both corners of the cards instead of just one side. This creates a different feel to the cards, and they can be easily stripped with just one swipe. Because they are easier to use, they are ideal for people with dry hands or have low sensitivity in their fingers.

Another advantage is that they allow the cards to be stripped forward to simulate a natural looking table cut.

Just got another batch of these mini Chop Cups. They continuously sell-out, and not just to Cup collectors. Magicians are actually using them.

    ►Micro Chop Cup Kit:

What you get here is a mini Chop Cup set made from a common looking metal shot cup which can be found in many bars. Since these are so small you are supplied with a duplicate ungaffed cup which you can switch out if you like or use both of them for a two-cup routine. You also get two crochet balls and two final loads which are a miniature billiard ball replica and a billiard chalk. Comes in a draw string pouch. Look at the picture with all that you get.

Since the cup is around an inch and a three-quarters tall and tapers from one and a half inches to one inch, it is small enough to perform in the spectator’s palm or on the back of their hand.
