MyMagic eNewsletter #906
February 20, 2021
The PO Boxes in the last newsletter sold-out even though I had bunches of them. The good news is that more are on the way. So please sign up for notifications on the product page so you don’t miss out on the next batch: HERE
One of my favorite pocket illusions to carry around and show people is Tenyo’s Sakkaku Scale. I am not the only one. Many of you purchased them from me and perform them often. Watch me perform it: HERE
Unfortunately, Tenyo discontinued it and I have no desire to carry the knockoffs. But the good news is that Tenyo just released a large magnetic stage version. I have very few of them so will not do a trailer until I can get more.
This new larger version is interesting, and the illusion is stronger than the miniature one. The magnetic properties are also a mystery to me. The three pieces are not attracted to each other but stick to the whiteboards that are found in classrooms and conference rooms. I tried it out on my refrigerator, and it worked perfectly. And the illusion is very impressive on a vertical plane.
Not that there is a huge demand for kitchen magicians… but now we have a perfect illusion to do on a borrowed refrigerator!
►Sakkaku Scale DX:
This new DX edition was made to be used for stand-up presentations. The pieces are much larger than the original averaging around 11” x 2” and are also magnetized so they can be attached to the whiteboards found in conference rooms and classrooms. You can also perform it close-up.
As you talk about optical illusions you show three plastic strips. Two of the strips have cats printed on them and one has a ruler. Using the ruler, you show that all are the same size. Then the cats appear to get shorter and longer and each time you use the ruler to show that they apparently did change in size. This looks so impossible that you will fool yourself every time you demonstrate it.

►Postage Rate Increase:
I have tried to hold off on raising my shipping rates for as long as I could, even though my actual shipping costs have gone up many times in the past few years. Unfortunately, I had to finally increase what I charge. I kept the increase as low as I could, and most orders will continue to be subsidized by me.
The main changes are:
United States: Free shipping on orders over $45. Everything else is a flat $5.
Canada: The flat rate shipping is now $15 and free shipping starts at $200.
Rest of the planet: The flat rate shipping is now $17 and free shipping starts at $400.
Mars: Flat rate: $2 Billion. But you must have someone there to sign for it!
As before, I continue to let digital product purchases contribute toward the free shipping options.
