When I was a teenager, I already began making my own gimmicked cards. I was taught how to split them by Del Cartier and would spend hours while watching TV splitting cards. Del at the time also had Derek Dingle’s dry mounting machine which he lent me for a few years. If you purchased a set of my very first trick, Mirror Miracle, back then, the Tally-Ho Circle double backer was hand made by me.
I no longer have the patience to make gaffs, but I could probably still split more than a deck per hour if I had to. It’s putting them together that I never enjoyed.
Anyway, the above has very little to do with the below product, which I wish I had as a teenager. It is a precision cutting tool that was specifically manufactured for playing cards. You can use it to make your own gimmicks, prototypes, and even some commercially available gaffed cards and decks.
►The Card Craftsman:
The Card Craftsman is a versatile cutting device for crafting your own gimmicked cards.
Its functions include: Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal cutting for half-card effects. Circular cutting. Cutting single trapezoid cards, short cards, and narrow cards for key card effects. Also includes a pressure card function that is used to secure and bond just-crafted gimmicked cards or even repair entire decks.

►Prophekey:
This is a very clever card reveal using keys. By placing two of the keys side by side the teeth form an outline of a selected card.
The keys supplied are designed to reveal two different cards: The Seven of Diamonds and the Four of Hearts.
You can wait for someone to randomly name one of those cards, you can force them using your favorite method, or you can use the website that was created for this trick… it is a random card generator that will force these cards for you.

The nice thing about running out of Michael Rubinstein products is that he delivers them over lunch or dinner where we get to hang out and talk about magic… and very often perform the stuff we are playing with. Got more of the convictions 2.0 and upgrade kits and you can now watch a live performance: HERE

►Conviction Prediction 2.0:
The original Conviction Prediction became so popular that Michael kept working on it and streamlining the method and handling. This new 2.0 version creates the same effect but now it automatically resets for repeat performances, easy to carry in a leather wallet, and can easily be done standing.
What makes this special is the delayed ending which comes completely unexpectedly, and since none of the props are gimmicked and only one simple sleight is used everything is examinable at the end.

►Keys To Magic’s Inner World:
This book is a window into the history of magic collecting in the United States. You will learn about the earliest collectors and collections as they evolved and morphed into the present industry.
The book also includes many new photographs of collections and collectors that have come into existence or expanded in the last quarter of the century.

►BACK IN STOCK:
I keep having to get more Torn Corner Machines for a good reason. It is a low-tech solution to an impossible seeming situation where a card found in an impossible location is matched up with its missing piece.
►TORN CORNER MACHINE:
The Torn Corner Machine is a playing card template that can be used to perforate duplicate cards in several different locations so cards can be set up to tear in almost the same way.
Although there are many ways to use this system the most obvious and popular is to have a card selected. Tear the corner off. Give it as a receipt to the spectator so they can identify the original selection. You then destroy or vanish the rest of the card. As if by magic that card is now found in an impossible location and the corner that the spectator is holding matches the found card.

PS: Learned a new word this week, “Carding”, when around 100 orders were placed on my site using stolen credit cards. The credit card company explained what that means but not how to prevent it in the future. I had 20+ hours of work ahead of me canceling the orders, refunding the money, and preparing a spreadsheet so that I don’t get hit with chargebacks which would otherwise cost me $25 each!
