MyMagic eNewsletter #1,097
April 12, 2023
Visited with two of my friends this week and was able to get you some exclusives.
First was Rich Marotta who now spends most of the year at his home in Spain. I convinced him to sell me all the Mugged routines he had left. I have gotten many requests for it, and I really like it… you can tell because I recently added it to my stage act.
The second visit was with Marc Salem who is allowing me to sell his new book. The cool thing about getting the book from me is that all my copies have been autographed by both Marc and his co-author Richard Mark.
►Mugged:
A funny stand-up routine that is right out of Rich Marotta’s comedy club act. The premise is of the magician being mugged. The robber takes your money, your ring and your watch.
Magically at the end of the routine the money is back in your wallet, the ring is on your finger and your watch is back on your wrist. And the moral of the routine is: Never rob a magician!

►Secret Tools & Strategies:
Salem and Mark have put together a book that covers many of the essential tools of mentalism. All are based on over a century of combined experience. It is a graduate course in the performance of Entertaining Mentalism.
Included in this detailed work are closely guarded secret strategies that you will use and will add valuable knowledge to your current and future performances.

A note for all the purchasers of Minted. The website that housed the tutorial had some hiccups, so I put a copy of the tutorial in your media library for immediate access and download.
►Minted:
You hand out a US Quarter for examination, show a TicTac container and spill out some TicTacs. You then place the Quarter and a TicTac in a spectator’s hand and explain that you will make the TicTac vanish.
When they open their hand the TicTac is gone… but wait… it is now seen embedded inside the Quarter! A truly impossible object that is completely examinable!

►OUR LATEST RELEASE:
►Scents Of Wonder:
Although there are many different types of routines that these special flower cards can be used for, the main routine revolves around a prediction.
You begin by writing a prediction on a paper napkin and leaving it in full view. You then show a stack of business sized cards with pictures of different types of flowers on them and have one selected in a very fair manner.
When the selected card is turned over it is seen to be a rose. You then reveal that what you wrote on the napkin was rose.

►New eBay Auctions:
Many of my auction items sold last Sunday but I continued to add more. There are another 76 auctions expiring next Sunday and Monday. Lots of tricks this time.
I will then take an eBay sabbatical till mid-May so I can focus on the new items I am planning to bring to the upcoming 4F and MAWNY conventions.

“Perhaps it may be popular these days to applaud that which is overly complex. Anything to the point is just too simple for which to pay good money some will deride.”
