Meir’s Muses

When I was in my early 20s, I started thinking about transitioning from close-up to stand-up magic. I actually had a decent manipulation act at one time.
But what I really focused on were talking routines. I thought that the easiest approach was to take the close-up presentations I was happy with and upscale them so they can be seen on stage.
The routine I was most proud of was my Progressive Bills routine. I performed it everywhere and the first time I explained it was in 2003 when I was the Guest of Honor at the FFFF Convention and wanted to include my thinking on it during my lecture.
It is my take on the classic card repeat routine done with bills. What I added was a big finish with a built in applauds cue. I also simplified it and made it self-contained. The gimmick I designed (which has been recently stolen and marketed) was one I put a lot of thought, effort, and trial and error into creating.
I came up with the idea of turning the gimmick into the surprise climax after having an unrelated conversation with David Roth. He was discussing the idea of producing the extra coin or gimmick in a routine as a kicker ending which would allow you to end clean.
Anyway, if you ever saw me perform on stage you likely saw me perform this routine. When I emcee shows, this is always with me as my emergency routine. I also use it as a personality piece to introduce myself to the audience.
I don’t want to bore you with my rambling, watch the trailer and see if it fits you: HERE
►Progressive Bills:
A routine right out of Meir Yedid’s professional stage and parlor acts. One he has been performing for most of his career. This is a quick version of the bill repeat plot that is logical, self-working, and has a powerful “applauds cue” ending. The brilliant part of the method is that the big finale serves as the secret gimmick throughout the routine. The routine ends with a flash unfold that produces the gimmick to great applauds.
It is completely self-contained, packs small (fits in a wallet or envelope), always ready to perform, ideal for stage and platform shows, a perfect Emcee routine and can even be a hit in family and children’s shows.

►Mind Games Reloaded:
Marc Salem and I have performed our combined Mind Games Reloaded show countless times throughout the East Coast and the shows have almost always sold-out. I wanted to give our New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut friends a chance to get tickets for our next show on October 13, before advertising begins to the general public.
It will take place in Piermont, NY at the iconic Turning Point where more than fifty Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have performed over the years.
