As part of David Solomon’s business, I acquired a small supply of the 2-DVD set that he produced about Ed Marlo. You will see a ton of interviews and commentary from his famous friends along with some candid movies of Marlo performing some of his stuff. It is a very good documentary about the legendary figure in card magic.

I think the best part though is the magic that is taught by his friends. You will find some excellent magic performed and explained by Allen Ackerman, Simon Aronson, Steve Draun, Don England, Kevin Kelly, Millard Lichter, Bill Malone, Jimmy Molinari, Jimmy Nuzzo, Jon Racherbaumer, and David Solomon.

In November 2003 at the exclusive El Escorial gathering that is annually produced by Juan Tamariz, David Solomon gave a talk about The Elevator Card Trick with his and Edward Marlo’s versions explained.

This is a PDF of the lecture notes he used and sold at the event. They include a brief history of the routine as well as versions created by David Solomon and Edward Marlo.

►Slow Motion Coin Vanish:

Geoff Latta’s Slow Motion Coin Vanish was one of the coin sequences that magicians always asked him to show them. It was choreographed to be performed in front of a small group. Ideally one or two people who are in front of you.

In this casual behind the scenes breakout session Geoff Latta teaches the techniques he uses for this unique vanish sequence. The sequence begins by you pretending to break the coin in half, then showing that both halves have vanished, different displays are then shown until the coin is eventually reproduced.

►Printing On Demand:

This is one of David Solomon’s favorite packet tricks. It full of visual transformations and multiple climaxes.

Themed around how everything is now being printed on demand… even playing cards. You place a blank Bicycle card to one side.

You then show four Jokers with blank backs. One by one you print four different colorful backs on them. After the four backs are printed, you magically cause all the Joker faces to vanish, leaving you with four blank cards with different backs. As a surprise ending, the blank card you placed aside at the beginning now has all four Jokers.

►BACK IN STOCK:

Just got a few more of the Statue of Liberty vanishes. What makes this updated version better than the previous release is that once the photograph of the statue vanishes you can give the postcard to your spectators to handle.

►Liberty Vanish 1.1:

This is a terrific visual that has been improved to be done inside a clear bag that will allow you to hand it out for examination in the end.

The visual effect begins by showing a postcard with of the Statue Of Liberty pictured on the front. With a flick of the finger or a wave of the hand the statue completely disappears, and the postcard can be shown on both sides and your hands are empty. If you decide to use the new handling inside a clear plastic bag you will also be able to hand the bagged card for examination.
