Peter Kane’s Jazz Aces has always been one of my favorite ace assemblies. For many years I used my handling to open all my formal close up shows, until I eventually switched to my Stand-Up, Pop-Jump routine. My fondness for the routine keeps me looking at all the latest variants. The one below incorporates a 100+ year old gaff with modern technology.
Tom Gagnon is next year’s 4F Magic’s Guest Of Honor and a very creative card mechanic. I have been a fan of his for decades and he is allowing me to offer you one of his exclusive releases.
It is a genius application of the Hofzinser Card within a Jazz Aces routine in combination with a smart phone’s flashlight to see through the indifferent cards before they turn into Aces.
The current price is ridiculously low considering all the labor it takes to make one of these cards… and you are getting four of them with this set. Not sure how long these will be available since a single card should sell for what the set sells for.
►Hof-Sender Aces:
The routine begins by removing the four black eights and nines and the four aces from the deck. The Aces are placed on the table in a row and one of the black cards is held face down over the flashlight, so you can see through it to verify that it is one of the black eights or nines.
The black card is put to one side as you take one of the Aces and add it to the packet of black cards. After pretending to do a whole card switch you show the four black cards with no Ace in sight. You then turn over the black card that they just saw you place to one side, and it is the Ace.
This is repeated three more times until all the Aces are together on one side.

Wanted to remind you that the introductory price for the excellent David Roth download expires on Tuesday. The opening production sequence alone is one you could use as an introduction to just about any coin routine and is ideal for stage work.
►Chanin-Victor Coin Routine:
David Roth performs and explains a visual and easy coin routine he put together using Jack Chanin’s TV Surprise Coin Production and Edward Victor’s Coins To Cup.
You begin with an ordinary, examinable handkerchief which you produce four coins singly from its center.
You then proceed with a coins across sequence where the four coins vanish one at a time and audibly appear in a coffee cup.

►Quimera Box:
Hernan created a sensation on social media with his Fool-Us appearance performing his hollow coin box routine. And yes, he badly fooled P&T by allowing them to examine all the props before and after the routine.
Although there are a couple of routines explained on the tutorial this is basically a coin box routine where coins vanish and appear inside it, even though it has no bottom or lid. It creates impossible seeming sequences that would be impossible with any other coin box.

►BACK IN STOCK:
I just received a shipment from Hungary replenishing my stock of some of Astor’s creations and his latest release, which you will find out about soon. But first his Trio, that I introduced you to last year, that sold out in minutes.
►Trio:
This is a practically self-working prediction routine where you write down the value of three playing cards on the back of a clear stand.
Three spectators freely select three cards from an ordinary shuffled deck, they can even sign or number the backs of the cards before they are placed in the stand.
When the stand is turned around the three selected cards match the three predictions you wrote.
But this is not limited to Poker size playing cards. You can use any type of cards including number cards, flash cards, alphabet cards, etc. for all kinds of predictions.

Stay happy, Meir
PS: I was planning on making a performance trailer for Tom’s routine, but after learning it and practicing it, I ran into a problem. The lighting that is needed to shoot a video drowns out the lights generated by the smart phone’s flashlight which also floods the camera lens. But it is a great idea for live performances.
►MyMagic Memories: Meir Yedid, Daryl, and Arthur Benjamin at the second G4G Convention in Atlanta in 1996.
Don’t make the mistake of just learning the routine. Think about the reasons and choices that were made and why.”
