Just received half a case of John Born’s Cheating At Texas Hold’Em book. It came out around 12 years ago and if you are not familiar with it, I think you will really enjoy it. It is an easy read and includes a lot of information not found anywhere else.
I think it is of particular interest to magicians who have an interest in gambling themed magic who are expected to be experts on cheating and are often asked about poker and cheating by their friends and clients.
►Cheating At Texas Hold’Em:
A fascinating and educational book by magician John Born subtitled, “A Modern Guide to the Art of Deception and Illicit Play at the Card Table,” is full of all of the latest gimmicks and techniques used to cheat at cards and Texas Hold’em in particular.
Along with all of the classic methods which are presented in a modern context you will find many new approaches and ideas developed by Born and some of the people he knows. What makes this book stand out from many of the rest is that it was written in a manner that even the most uninformed card player and magician will be able to understand.

I didn’t think I could offer you more Taillight Color Changing Knives this quickly, but Terry was able to get his hands on a small stash and made a few more sets in all varieties, 2-knife sets, 3-knife sets, and Junk Yard sets.
►Taillight Color Changing Knives:
These knives are made of the red Taillight material used for brake lights on cars. This allows for an interesting introduction to the knife.
You can explain that you had the knife made using the taillight of your parent’s car, or from your first car and it has sentimental value and that is why you always carry it with you.
The knife style is a single blade 1893 Doctor’s Knife that was used for counting and cutting pills, along with more dangerous procedures. They are working knives that are heavy, sharp, and easy to handle.

►As It Stands:
You get two plastic stands that can be used to hold/display a prediction or even your smartphone while recording videos.
The folding stands were designed to be used by mentalists and magicians to display predictions but also have a built-in card reveal.

►Oh No!:
You display a small box with built in scissors and a tube down the center. You place your finger (or any similarly shaped object like a borrowed pen) into the tube from underneath so it protrudes from the top of the tube.
The scissors are then used to apparently cut through your finger and as a convincer you lift half the tube to show that the middle of the finger is completely gone even though the fingertip sticking out of the tube is still there and wiggling.
Everything is then restored, and your finger is back to the way it started. The finger is examinable but not the prop.
