MyMagic eNewsletter #1,377
February 18, 2026
The title of the newsletter does not refer to a Par Four in Golf. It refers to Blake Vogt’s ingenious Number 4 Envelopes. They are a four-way-out envelope I have been using since he released them.
Around three years ago he gave me the stage-size version of the envelope, and I have been doing my routine using them on stage ever since.
One idea I had, that I am not using, is to combine the 4-way-out envelope with a set of Princess Cards. Feel free to use it. Although the routines that come with the envelopes are excellent.
I currently have envelopes in both Poker Size and Jumbo Size.
►Number 4 Envelope:
This is an ingeniously constructed four-way-out envelope using an origami type fold that allows it to handle very cleanly and fairly.
The four compartments can be easily opened from the four sides of the envelope, and each side can hold one or more playing cards, or any prediction item that will fit inside.
Depending on which way you start to open the envelope you can hand it to your spectator to remove the card or small object.

I also just received a few more of Dean Dill’s Coin Wallet that can also be used as a 2-way-out purse.
►Dean’s Coin Wallet:
This is a very nicely made coin purse that Dean Dill used with his coin magic. It is a double-sided switching purse that snaps shut. It looks exactly the same on both sides so you can use it for multiple outs, switches, or just carry your coins and small props.

►Parlor Rising Card:
A remote-controlled rising card routine that uses advanced technology to simplify the method and improve the hands-off effect. Comes with a beautiful stand, dome, and glass which make the routine play big and makes it ideal for stand-up and formal close-up conditions.
Complete control is at your fingertips, no forcing required, and any deck can be used. Multiple signed cards can be selected and will gracefully rise from the deck in the exact order you choose, all effortlessly managed by a multiple-function remote.

►BACK IN STOCK:
For magicians who love to make their own gaffs this is a great entry point system that I keep selling out of. Just got a few more.
►The Card Craftsman:
The Card Craftsman is a versatile cutting device for crafting your own gimmicked cards.
Its functions include: Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal cutting for half-card effects. Circular cutting. Cutting single trapezoid cards, short cards, and narrow cards for key card effects. Also includes a pressure card function that is used to secure and bond just-crafted gimmicked cards or even repair entire decks.

►SemiQ:
SemiQ is the easily pronounceable name for Semiquincentennial, a real word that refers to the 250th Anniversary of the United States.
The US Mint has announced that all the coins minted during this year will have special designs commemorating the anniversary. Just like during 1776 when they released Bicentennial coins.
Here is a photo of the new half dollars that are scheduled to be released in early May (luckily the Kennedys will be back next year).
I have been thinking about releasing some coin routines using these new half dollars but, in most cases, I think it would be a waste of money and energy. Was considering a routine where you start with a Kennedy, turn it into a Bicentennial and then into a SemiQ to hand out as a gift while explaining the history of the US.
Might do a few Eraser Coins though. In either case I think they would be great gifts at the end of a simple one-coin routine.
►eBay Auctions:
Transferred the dozens of books, lecture notes, pamphlets and autographs to their own categories:

PS: My recently released Michael Rubinstein One-Coin Routine download might be a good way to find 3-4 sequences to use the SemiQ coins with before giving them away.
“Tricks which appear to be dependent entirely upon mental operations undoubtedly make the nearest possible approach to real magic.”
