MyMagic eNewsletter #1,341
October 4, 2025
I wanted to thank everyone who was able to grab one of the Coin Copiers. They are now all gone. Will begin working on the next iteration which I hope will be ready by next April.
Below you will find the new Air Purse. Although the extremely well made, clear vinyl, coin purse is not gimmicked the routine at the beginning of trailer fooled me. Especially with the sound effects. Very clever… and the tutorial teaches the entire routine.
Also received a few more of the Steve Beam Books/Booklets that sold out recently. This will also be your last chance to get the Through The Trapdoor booklets. Instead of trying to convince you to get those, I am including links to the newsletters that introduced them.

►Air Purse:
This is a custom-made clear coin purse that is made small enough to accomplish the magic that is performed in the trailer.
Although see-through plastic purses do exist, this custom-made version was very difficult to manufacture, shape, and sew using transparent vinyl that is clear and does not scratch.
The purse and matching purse frame are not gimmicked so they can be used as regular props with your current routines or even to simply carry your coins and gimmicks.
The tutorial teaches the excellent routine on the trailer and the many interesting techniques used to accomplish the routine and sound effects.

►Through The Trapdoor:
This is a very scarce booklet that Steve Beam put together for a private lecture in 2017 in Montreal for the Magic Collector’s Weekend. The full color photo on page 26 (that you can see in the trailer) is in my opinion worthy of framing.
The booklet covers Steve’s journey and thoughts about publishing his long-running Trapdoor magazine. Covering the fun stuff throughout the journey, some humorous samples, photographs, cartoons, and a list of all the contributors.

►Multiple Impact:
Steve Beam has been closing his shows and his lectures for around 50 years with this multiple selection routine. It does not require any sleight of hand but does require practice and sleight of mind.
The spectators have free choices of the cards they select, and they lose the cards in the deck themselves! You then reveal every selection with 100% accuracy.
Here is how Steve introduced the trick in the booklet: “When I want to fool a large group of magicians, this is the trick I reach for. It is guaranteed to leave those not familiar with it groping for a solution. If I want to entertain a large group of laymen with a card trick, this is the trick I reach for. I have performed it for so long that I have developed bits of business which make it a very entertaining effect for magicians and laymen. I have used it for audiences ranging in size from six to six hundred and I have used it to close my lecture[s].”

►Smokers:
This is a massive in-depth history, analysis, variations, improvements, applications, and complimentary techniques to the little known 14/15 Principle with cards. It includes 16 new forces and 26 new routines and many of the routines could be classified as “Magician Foolers.”
The book explains the principle, explores the history, and details the major milestones in the use of the principle. It then moves from the past to focus on the future with new effects, subtleties, tangents, and stacks. This is not just a magic book. It’s a textbook on a powerful principle and a roadmap showing you where and how to use it. It pushes the boundaries of what was previously thought possible. This is the one-stop reference book on the principle but it’s also a fun read. And, a principle or a stack, without good effects to exploit it, is like having great ingredients but no recipe.

►Jumbo Pop-Up Half Dollar:
This will not make you a star, but it is a funny and memorable item. It is basically a folding frisbee with an imprint of a Kennedy Half Dollar on it.
It is around 2.25-inches when folded and expands to around 7.75-inches. It can be used as a production item or even as a surface to do coin magic on during walk-around by having a spectator hold it.

►LATEST MYMAGIC RELEASE:
►Coin Clip:
Christian Scherer redesigned the original Slydini Coin Clip in the 1980s, to make it much easier to handle and the perfect size for four half dollars. It also allows for more natural handlings.
The video tutorial is the most comprehensive treatise on the subject ever presented. It includes many of the common methods as well as little known applications for close-up and stage. Subjects include: Coin Insertions (7 methods), Hand Steals (6 methods), Hand To Hand Toss, Lapping (4 methods), Almost Perfect Vanish, Sleeving (2 methods), Topit, NOW-U-IT Vanish, Pull (3 methods), Pendulum Principle/Upside-Down Topit (2 Methods), Baby Bottle Nipple, Silly Putty, and much more.

“Without the proper presentation, it is just another (incredible) card trick. Combining presentation with the mystery improves both the presentation and the mystery.”
