Meir’s Muses
MyMagic eNewsletter #1,181
March 2, 2024
One of the special things that that happens at the G4G Conferences, that I mentioned in the last newsletter, is the gift exchange feature. Every attendee is encouraged to contribute a gift that will be given to all the other contributors. This year there were 160 gift bags. Every time I attended, I contributed a math based magic trick…It is so much fun to go through the gift bags when you get home.
This year I decided to produce a fake “gift card” trick I have been messing with for a while and performing for friends with one of the prototypes. The package included the specially printed card, access to an online tutorial, an old business card I am trying to get rid of, and a bonus.
Since I never intended to actually market it, I decided to print an extra few hundred of them and give them to you as a gift. So, every shippable order placed during the month of March will get a free copy of what I decided to call: Meir Yedid’s Magical Gift Card.
Continuing with the math theme, below you will find a very interesting prediction effect that revolves around Oreo Cookies.
►OREORE:
This is a very interesting self-working mentalism based routine that revolves around the way Oreo Cookies are organized and eaten.
Using cards with the letters “O” and “RE” printed on both sides the spectator mixes them to get an apparently random mixture that may spell different combinations of cookies and cream. For example: O-RE-O-O-RE-O-RE
When the final order of the cards is displayed it matches your printed prediction that has been in full view the entire time. Instead of using the supplied prediction you can also make one using real cookies and give it out as a gift for your friends to eat.

►BACK IN STOCK:
Just got a small shipment of Ted Bogusta’s Sweet Prediction. It has been out of stock for a while since they are time consuming to make. I also added the recent Genii review to the product page which you can read: HERE
I also just received another small shipment of autographed copies of Harrison Greenbaum’s new book and more of Steve Dusheck’s Diminishing Cards.
►Sweet Prediction:
You borrow a quarter (or similar sized coin). Have the spectator remember the date and initial it. The coin vanishes.
You then open the bag and remove a jar full of candy (or anything you like). You explain that the jar also contains the prediction of the coin’s date and if your prediction is wrong, they get to keep all the candy.
The spectator opens the jar and pulls a ribbon out from the bottom of the jar and on the end of the ribbon is a clip with a coin attached to it. You explain that the date on the coin should match the date they are thinking of… which it does.
But here is the unexpected shocker. When they turn over the coin, they see their initials on it.

►Dusheck’s Diminishing Cards:
This is one of Steve Dusheck’s favorite creations and one of the routines he always performed. He partnered with Steve Shufton to create this improved version of his Diminishing Cards.
Here are some of the features of this unique set: Can be performed close-up or on stage, the cards grow back at the end, any back design possible, instant reset, faces match most popular brands, cards stay in same order as they shrink, and it is self-contained.

►LATEST RELEASE:
►Brain Bogglers:
For many years Meir Yedid has been opening his stage, parlor, and formal close-up shows with a series of three optical illusions/brain twisters where he explains how magic works. The premise is that we tell you the truth, but your brain lies to you.
The three optical illusions/brain twisters are the standard Word Skipping Illusion, Cornsweet Illusion, and Thatcher illusion, although they have been modified to optimize the live presentations and make them more interesting.
