While at the 4F convention this year I got the opportunity to purchase a good quantity of the Millennium Memorial edition of the Vernon Spinning Coins.

In 1976 during Dai Vernon’s “Farewell Lecture Tour” he had manufactured some spinning coins to offer as souvenirs of the event. The coins were designed by Mickey O’Malley and featured a self-cut silhouette on one side and an image of his cups & balls and linking rings on the other. There were other hidden symbols and some obvious ones like the title of his Genii column, The Vernon Touch, which was later published as a great book. It also refers to him as the “Magic Castle Prestidigitator.”

Throughout the last years of his life he kept inviting everyone to his 100th birthday. Unfortunately, he only made it to 98!

After his death Dennis Marks, with the help of Bill Bowers, decided to re-issue the spinning coins as a Millennium Memorial edition. They made a limited edition of just 1,000 coins. It is unknown how many of the originals from 1976 were made.

    Vernon Spinning Coin: Memorial Edition:
I made a video trailer for the coins so you can see what you are getting. These are in brand new and in mint condition.

There are several important differences between these and the original coins. Besides being thicker and heavier they were also cleaned up and made easier to read. The one major change is that Vernon never liked where the nipple was placed on the original coin. It was in the center of his face and looked like a pimple. It was also produced by piercing the coin.

These coins have the nipple on the tail side, and it is stamped in, not added later. If you are not sure what all that means, please watch the trailer where the spinning coin is explained and demonstrated.

The Memorial coin also added his signature as well as his date of birth and death. You will get one mint condition coin plus the original sheet that was sold with it explaining its history and how to tell whether it lands face up or tails up when spun on its edge.

    Watch and buy: HERE.

Since I have a bunch of them at the moment, I decided to discount them for a couple of weeks and let you get them at a bargain price: HERE.

    eBay Notice:
Expiring tomorrow night, on Sunday I have a complete set of the three original coins at auction. It is the only set I have and includes a 1976 gold toned coin (hard to find) a 1976 silver toned coin (very hard to find) and the Millennium Memorial coin (found here).

Take a look and bid: HERE.

While you are on eBay you may as well spend some time browsing through my eBay store: Go: HERE.

    Restocked:
Several of the items that sold out recently, are back in stock.
But are still in limited supply.

►Ultimate Micro Chop Cup Kit: HERE.
►The End Of Times Book Two: HERE.
►The End Of Times Book One: HERE.
    ►Quiver: HERE.
    ►Quiver Plus: HERE.

I should be getting a large supply of The Mueller Report Flip Book on Monday. If you want to make sure to get one this time, please sign up for notifications: HERE.

    Comix Roadhouse:
On Sunday at 5pm (doors open at 4:30pm) I will be teaming up with David Garrity to present our edition of the Spinnato Magic Matinee. It will take place at the Comix Roadhouse, at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

Hope to see some of my friends there. You can easily buy the tickets at the door since it is a giant theater, or you can reserve your seats in advance: HERE.

One of the perks of working in a casino is that you can often get a nice room for your stay. I will be driving back home on Monday so all orders will be shipped on Tuesday.

    Until next time,

    Meir
