Magician has philosophy about critical thinking-The Ridgefield Press
Tom Pesce, 34, has appeared at many of the town’s civic events, including the Holiday Stroll and the sidewalk festivals of summer and fall. Canadian pair catches a bullet -Times Colonist
Chris Gudgeon doesn’t seem like a guy who’s into guns, and not just because he’s a peace-loving poet. So why did he suddenly find himself at the North Saanich Rod and Gun Club to learn the finer points of marksmanship? It was for the The Trick With the Gun, director Michael McNamara’s high-calibre documentary that the Victoria-based writer and producer wrote and appears in. Magician Dan White earned his chops on South Street -Philly
White defines success by the oohs, ahhhs, and how-did-he-do-its? he hears - in this case, from Fallon and the audience. But the 34-year-old Philly native can hang his rabbit hat on an even broader definition. What started in March as a once-a-weekend show at New York's NoMad Hotel has grown to four shows of sellout crowds each weekend (with tickets at $85 to $125) - and no end date in sight. Not only is he mentioned in conversations alongside David Copperfield and David Blaine, two of his mentors, but he also has consulted in Las Vegas with Copperfield and was featured on the Discovery Channel's The Supernaturalist in 2011 as well as the Travel Channel's White Magic in 2013. Last year, he was a consultant to Kanye West, collaborating on magic visuals for the Yeezus Tour...

Gleaning Investment Wisdom From a Magician Turned Skeptic-MarketMinder‎
“No matter how smart or how well-educated you are, you can be deceived.” Words of wisdom from an investment guru? Perhaps the lamenting of an SEC lawyer investigating a fraud case? Or a former stock manipulator who, since exposed, has come clean? The answer is none of the above, but that makes the warning no less important. In fact, they are courtesy of James Randi, a magician-turned-skeptic who offers some of the most valuable investment lessons I’ve come across. How so? Randi is an expert in human nature, and I would argue the mastery of this skill is no less valuable to an investor than it is to a conjuror...
