Magician Mat Franco lands a show on the Las Vegas Strip
The first magician to win NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” lands his own show coming to The Linq this summer. Mat Franco won season nine of the series with his playful style and lots of interaction with the audience. The 26-year-old Rhode Island native takes over the about-to-be renovated Linq Theater at the resort that hosts Guy Fieri’s restaurant and O’Sheas, the Irish casino.

Born and raised in Bagota, Colombia, Camilo Dominguez (aka Camilo the Magician) moved to Victoria, B.C. to pursue his education at the age of 15, where he explored acting and performing opportunities. Camilo attended the School of Magic Arts in Bogota, under the mentorship of renowned magician Richard Sarmiento, completed the Production Program at Langara’s Studio 58, attended classes at the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts in New York and completed the Theatre History Exchange Program in London -- and had the tools under his belt to tour and perform his illusions in front of live audiences....

Magician Lance Burton has finished his debut movie and this week sent “Billy Topit: Master Magician” to Los Angeles for color correction and final audio mix. “It’ll take four to eight weeks,” Lance told me. He’s now signing off on the final version of the movie poster. “Realistically, we are looking at having the big black-tie premiere in the fall as a fundraiser for the children’s charities I work with here in Las Vegas. We’ll firm that up in the next couple of months,” he added.

Halfway magician Matty Evans has performed for Peter Andre, Anthony Costa and Cheryl Fergison
A Halfway magician says his career has taken off in the last year after performing for celebrities including Peter Andre and working on a cruise ship. Matty Evans has been performing since 2001 but his love of illusions goes back to when he was a young boy. “I had the Paul Daniels and Marvin’s Magic sets as a kid, as you do,” he said. “Obviously it just grew from there.

Comedy magician Mac King is slick. He’s a pro. You’ll never even see how he tricks you. King, who’s been performing on the Las Vegas Strip for 15 years, specializes in close-up magic, a skill he learned from his grandfather, who used to point him to his magic books when King asked how he did a trick. Penn Jillette sheds 47 kilograms
Legendary magician/actor/comedian Penn Jillette hasn't been joking around about his health in the past year. The 6-foot-7 celeb, who is one half of the famous Penn & Teller team, has been on an extreme slimming programme and has lost 47 kilograms. He tells People he decided to do something in December, when his doctor, who had him on six different blood pressure medications, told him that if he lost enough weight he would likely not need any meds.
