Winter Magic Festival to host topflight illusionists-Indianapolis Star‎
The Winter Magic Festival will include a World Championship of Magic Showcase (6:30 p.m. Jan. 22), where the six competitors will perform the same 10-minute act they'll present in Rimini. Each magician will also perform a 1-hour show. Internationally-recognized magicians Oscar Munoz and Eric DeCamps will also appear at the festival, performing and giving lectures and workshops to professional magicians coming to Indy...

Friday Night Magic - An Evening Of Intimate-The Sparta Independent‎
Magicians will start appearing this Friday, Jan 23 as part of Friday Night Magic-An Evening Of Intimate Deceptions. Every Friday Night, for eight weeks, Sparta Ave Stage will feature an award winning professional magician up close and personal. The magic presented will be done by headlining performers who have worked and/or lectured at the Magic Castle. According to Tom Gibbons, board member of the non-profit, 501(c)3 Sparta Stage, Inc. and co-organizer for the weekly event, "it's like going to see Broadway performers, without $8 bottles of water and crossing through the Lincoln tunnel."..

First Look: 'Now You See Me 2' Adds Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy-I Am Rogue
Actually, only three of the Four Horseman are back, but the first look at Now You See Me 2 illustrates how the sequel is stacking the deck despite the absence of Isla Fisher.
Fisher isn't returning as Henley, but the role of the sole woman in the magician/thief group is being taken up by the great Lizzy Caplan, currently playing a honeypot in The Interview. She and Daniel Radcliffe are the two biggest additions to the ensemble in the sequel, which finds the erstwhile Harry Potter playing the son of Michael Caine's character.

Rep. Mark Pocan has more tricks up his sleeve for 'Magic Mondays-Madison
Rep. Mark Pocan can use magic to change a stack of cards from blue to red, or from blank faces to a royal flush. But the Madison Democrat is hoping to use his sleight-of-hand skills for a loftier goal: to change the way things are done in the nation's capital.  Pocan launched an online video series last week called "Magic Mondays," in which the congressman offers some insight into the world of lawmaking in Washington, D.C., illustrated with a magic trick.

For the past decade or so, magician Criss Angel has made a name for himself by pushing the physical boundaries of illusions: levitating high above a Las Vegas hotel, escaping from a strait jacket while suspended upside down with a weight around his neck, being submerged in a locked water tank.
