"I'm A Newspaper Strip Fan From Way Back" -Bleeding Cool News‎
The way I’m playing it is that he knows more magic than he lets on, and there are reasons he doesn’t use it, some of which we’ll find out during this story (and maybe we’ll even see his resolve crack a little, as he finds he has to use a bit of real magic despite his misgivings). The biggest difference for me, though, is his relationship with his colleague Lothar, which is the rock the strip is built on as far as I’m concerned. He’s not a loner. He’s a performer; he’s charismatic and charming. He has friends, some of whom, like Lothar, have known him longer than any of us have been alive. Those relationships set him apart from his imitators, who tend by and large not to be social creatures...

And now for the next trick, making Hebrew disappear -The Times of Israel‎
“There were always English-speaking entertainment shows in Israel, until the mid-1990s,” says Dror Liwer, an entrepreneur and amateur magician who founded Sorcerers Night, the English-language magic, comedy and illusion show that happens here every Sunday night. “But then the First Intifada came, and the venues crashed. The top performance venue in Jaffa that catered to English speakers is now a wedding hall. The industry just never recovered.”

The Secrets Behind Harry Houdini's Ten Greatest Illusions -Gizmodo‎
There is an unwritten rule among magicians never to reveal how a trick is done. So when a 2004 exhibition explained Harry Houdini's illusions, magicians around the world were apoplectic. David Copperfield called it a breach of magic protocol, and performers declared that they would boycott the exhibition. Many claimed to still use Houdini's tricks themselves. But Harry has been dead nearly 90 years. Despite their claims, few modern illusionists use his dated techniques. And the great magician's secrets had been revealed decades earlier. He had been in his grave just three years when his team began spilling the beans. This list is for those who want to know Houdini's secrets. Those who don't want to know should stop reading now...

But one particular institution helps modern magicians get on the right path. Magician Jeff McBride and his Clone -KUOW News
Big media corporations have staked out some strong protection for intellectual property, but for the individual magician, protecting ideas is tricky. There’s a lot of legal ambiguity, according to Sara Crasson, an intellectual property lawyer and magician herself. “If someone can watch the performance and figure out what the secret is, then that magician would lose trade secret protection,” says Crasson. “For magicians, trade secrets are a lot tougher to keep because magicians frequently do know how other magicians do their work; it’s a much more complicated thing for magicians to do.”..

Often male and middle-aged, and frequently wearing ponytails or Tevas or novelty slogan T-shirts (product of evolution; stop making stupid people famous; atheist), they came to genuflect before their idol, drawn by both his legendary feats as an illusionist and his renown as an icon of global skepticism...
