The service began on time at 11 a.m. and lasted just about an hour, honoring the no-nonsense style of Mr. Greenberg, who was known as Ace. Located at 617 East Passyunk Avenue, South Street Magic is the city’s only full-time magic shop and theatre. “Philadelphia used to be a Mecca of magic,” says owner and magician Seth Rovner. “Jack Kanter had a shop that was very, very famous. You had the Philadelphia Magic Company owned by a couple of great people, as well. Philadelphia for while was literally the Mecca of magic in the country, especially with shops. What Is 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us'? A Magician Reality Show That You -Bustle
They almost had us fooled, but Penn and Teller’s new show Fool Us is no newbie to television screens. While it may be hitting our shores for the very first time, the latest addition to the CW lineup is actually a British import. Originally airing in 2011, the program left English airwaves with only a single season under its belt. However, this whole recycled program business doesn’t make the show any less good. For someone like me, who was a little bit of a magic nerd back in the day, this show is pretty exciting. Think of it like American Idol for magic, with a twist...

The Book Reader: 'The Magician's Land'
Five years later, Grossman, book critic at TIME Magazine and author of many of that newsweekly’s culture and science cover stories, has released "The Magician's Land," the very satisfying final book in his trilogy. The series has been spoken of over and over again as "Harry Potter for adults." Which it kind of is. These characters drink and curse and have ill-advised sex, all while casting spells and encountering mystical creatures and evil villains. But there are no wands or tall hats to be found. Magic here is more akin to a field of deep mathematics.
