The secret of magic is not a secret -SFGate
My friend Reed Kirk Rahlmann is an actor, a street performer, a writer, a tour guide and a magician. We have lunch together occasionally, and we often talk about magic. He does it; I watch it; we have a lot in common. He doesn't tell me the secrets of the tricks he does onstage, but he will talk enthusiastically and well about magic in general. I really don't know how the tricks are done (save for a few gimmicks I've learned over the years), but I do appreciate hearing about them from an expert...

Legend has it that PC Sorcar Jr was once denied entry into Sathya Sai Baba's lair. But hell bent on calling his bluff, Sorcar gained entry in disguise, and when Baba miraculously produced a sondesh, the magician came up a rasagulla from thin air. Teller conjures up a magical vision of 'The Tempest' at ART -Boston Globe
Teller, the mononymous magician, says that his upcoming production of “The Tempest” began as the stuff of dreams — his, to be precise. In 1978, he was studying the process of recording dreams, and one night he dreamt that he was Prospero, the sorcerer at the center of Shakespeare’s last play. “I was fighting my enemies by means of magic tricks,” Teller says. “I realized that Prospero is unlike other Shakespearean vengeance takers, who stab their enemies or poison them or gouge their eyes out. Prospero puts on shows to get his vengeance. It’s a strange tale that haunted me for a long time.”
