Magic doesn't suck anymore - honest
It's strange to think that watching a magician die could plant a seed so strong it would see 4-year-old Dan Sperry grow up to be the infamous Anti-conjuror. Yet, that's how it happened. Kind of. His grandparents took him to see David Copperfield, who opened his show with his spinning saw trick. At the ripe old age of 4, Sperry watched an icon cut into two and the rest, as they say, is history.

Donald M. Cohen, magician
Donald M. Cohen, a retired credit manager and magician who was known as "Magic Don," died May 1 from a heart attack at his Edgewood home. He was 87. "His first passion was magic. He began doing sleight of hand tricks when he was in his mid-50s," said a daughter, Tammy Wallingsford of Sarasota, Fla., who said her father was a largely self-taught magician. "He continued to do magic after retirement and did magic shows at art festivals, birthday parties and general events until he passed away," said Ms. Wallingsford. "He even did a magic show at the Easter Egg Roll one year at the White House when President George W. Bush was in office."
