Fire damages Hollywood landmark Magic Castle magician's academy - Republic
The Magic Castle, the spooky headquarters for generations of stage magicians, was closed by a fire Monday that damaged the Hollywood landmark and shut down its Halloween activities, including a seance. The blaze was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. and took more than an hour to douse. Smoke rose from dormer windows at the height of the blaze. No injuries were reported. After fire, Magic Castle hopes to reopen Friday - Los Angeles Times
Magic Castle officials said they hope to reopen Friday after a fire broke out in the attic of the century-old Victorian mansion Monday afternoon, canceling its popular Halloween night event.
