Theatre marks fire which killed The Great Lafayette
The 100th anniversary of a fire which killed 10 people including famous magician, The Great Lafayette, is being marked by an Edinburgh theatre.

Theatre review: A Salute to the Great Lafayette - Scotsman
WHEN you're in a theatre with a notebook, people commonly ask if you are a critic. Saturday was the first time anyone's asked if I were a magician. It seemed an unlikely idea until headline act Paul Daniels got the magicians in the audience to stand up. There were loads of them. They were there not only to see Daniels pay tribute to the Great Lafayette, the illusionist who died when a fire consumed this very stage on 9 May, 1911, but also for a whole weekend of magic-related activities.

Houdini performance canceled, moved to March - Beaumont Enterprise
Magician Aron Houdini, who was going to attempt to break a world record while in Beaumont next week, will not be performing on Nov. 11 due to poor ticket sales, said a member of the Texas Society of Paranormal Investigators, which had organized the event.

Taiwanese magician Eric Cheng could not stop producing confetti in his show-ending performance.
Thousands of people thronged the place to feast their eyes on the first-ever magic festival taking place in their backyard. Organised by the Amazing Magic World, 16 magicians -- including three from Taiwan -- showcased their magical tricks for four hours in front of their audience. The same team later continued with the festival at Kulai Centre Point in the evening.

Magician Nathan Burton sued over ticket revenue-sharing agreement
Las Vegas Strip magician Nathan Burton has been sued by a company claiming to be owed money from a ticket sales revenue-sharing agreement. The suit was filed Wednesday in Clark County District Court by Voelkner Productions LLC against Burton and two of his companies.
