Gottlieb Kogel, magician and nudist park proprietor, dies at 93
Gottlieb Kogel, a longtime magician and proprietor of the Indian Hills Nudist Park near Slidell, died August 26 at his home in Slidell. He was 93. Known as the "Professor,'' Mr. Kogel was raised in Central City and did magic shows locally for more than 40 years as "Kogel the Magician.'' In a 1999 interview, Mr. Kogel said he learned to do magic tricks by watching magicians perform on Canal Street....

Boonton NJ man's talent is simply magical -
The best magic trick Al Callus ever saw was one he performed at age 13 — and it will never be duplicated. The basic trick is a familiar one: The magician pours milk into a cone made out of paper, and the milk vanishes. "It's a trick every kid learns," he says. But Callus decided to throw a wrinkle into it. He decided to make the cone out of specially treated paper that burns quickly and leaves no ash. At the end of the trick, he would set the cone on fire.
